Only a few minutes away is Llechwedd Slate Caverns/Zip World; a great day out for the kids and adults alike. You’re only, a short drive from Betws Y Coed, known as the gateway to the Snowdonia National Park. Just further on from here is the famous Surf Snowdonia. Also, within easy reach is Porthmadog, home to the Welsh Highland Railway and the famous Black Rock Sands, and Harlech is also only a short drive away - a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization world Heritage Site with its imposing castle and simply stunning beaches well worth a visit. You’ll certainly not be short of sights to see in this diverse area.

There are water sports both on the lake and close by at the White-Water Rafting Centre, as well as a golf course. The area is a mecca for bike enthusiasts with an abundance of trails to explore. Also within easy reach are the sandy beaches of the Cardigan Bay Coast, just 23 miles away at Barmouth.

    Inside Gwel Yr Haul, you’ll find the holiday home has been furnished in a contemporary, minimalist style, with an upside-down layout to take full advantage of the panoramic views from the upstairs rooms. Upstairs the living spaces are open plan, creating a laid-back feel and are fronted by three patio doors which open out onto the balcony so you can fully indulge in the view. There’s a modern kitchen next to the dining/living area with deep, comfy sofas and a cosy gas fire, perfect for relaxing evenings in front of a film or some downtime with a good book. The dining table is positioned in a light-filled spot right in front of the patio doors, a great place to start the day with a delicious breakfast. In addition, there is a cosy snug with a stylish high-backed chair and a selection of books and Xbox one, great for the kids. There are three bedrooms, all on the ground floor sleeping up to eight guests. The master bedroom features a super kingsize bed, with extra single bed and pull-out bed for flexible sleeping, this bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath. And the other two are just as comfortable with zip and link super kingsize or twins, as well as a shower room and family bathroom. Step outside into the pretty courtyard and you’ll find more dining space for barbecuing on sunny days, there’s also a handy wetsuit drying area for those who’ve braved a dip in the sea. In the evenings, gather around the table and chairs on the balcony for an after-dinner drink as the sun sets.
    The house is located minutes away from Barmouth, when the tide is in you can walk on the promenade, it takes around 20-30 minutes. Wander through town, stopping off at shops and cafés along the way or to one of the restaurants for dinner. Barmouth beach is 100 yards away, accessible by footpath from the house, over a pedestrian railway crossing, the beach varies from vast sandy expanses to pebbles and lovely sand dunes.
