Maidstone, EnglandSituated on the North Downs, Denmark House the perfect place to spend time with family and friends. The property has been a successful world class residential recording studio for many years, and now, after extensive renovations, we have now opened our doors for short term lettings. The studio is available on request, and we also have on-site an equestrian centre and café, where you can book riding lessons and hacks. On the ground floor, the main living area is a light, spacious and open plan living, kitchen and dining areas, with a large open fire place. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, including a 7-burner range cooker. The ground floor also contains a second iving room in the studio section, there are also two double bedrooms and a shower room with toliet. The first floor has its own open plan living space, three double and three single bedrooms and a shower room.
You’ll be located just outside the quiet village of Bluebell Hill, with stunning views and walks on your doorstop. There is a great pub down the road, and the village of Maidstone is just 10 minutes away by car. You can even be in London for a night out within 50 minutes. As we do have neighbours we do ask that you are in from the garden by 9.00pm and when outside you are mindful of your noise levels and language. The property is situated in land classed as SSSI (a Special Site of Scientific Interest), and you can enjoys miles and miles of fantastic walk and views.
The county town of Kent has excellent retail stores, pubs, clubs, coffee shops, cinemas and restaurants. Local areas of interest are Mote Park (set in 450 acres and includes woodlands and lakes), Leeds Castle, Chatham Historic Dockyard, Maidstone Museum and numerous golf courses. Nearby towns include Sevenoaks, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Rochester, West Malling, Folkestone, Dover and Whitstable. Brighton is only a 45-minute drive away! You are spoilt for choice if you want to go shopping, with the Bluewater shopping centre is a short 20-minute drive away, and Ashford Outlet Centre is 30-minutes away. Both are accessible by local public transport. If you wanted to go further afield and had your passport handy, you could be in Paris in 2 hours as Ebbsfleet and Ashford International Station are only 20 minutes’ drive away. To the outside this holiday home has a pretty, gravelled area to the front of the house and an enclosed courtyard to the rear. With access from the kitchen, it’s the perfect spot for an early morning coffee or a sun trap in an afternoon to enjoy and hour of two with a good book.
The town of Bridlington offers a plethora of tea rooms, fish and chip restaurants as well as a host of convenience stores. Spend time on the golden sands, enjoy an evening stroll on the long promenade or take a ride on the land train. A visit to The Bayle Museum and the Bondwille Model Village is a must. The stately homes of Sewerby Hall and Gardens, Burton Agnes Hall and Sledmere are just a short drive away. A little further afield are the coastal towns of Flamborough and Filey. RSPB Bempton Cliffs is a bird lovers dream. They are situated in an elevated position on the edge of Broadlay near Ferryside on the old pilgrim road to St David’s Cathedral.
There is generous amenity space, dog walking paths and a country adventure play area for small, accompanied children. The complex is on the local bus route which connects to Carmarthen via the hotel and Ferryside railway station. In the opposite direction, Kidwelly and Swansea are en route. Ferryside is uncommercialised, peaceful and quiet; the ideal getaway for a perfect weekend (or longer) break. It is also, due to its proximity to Carmarthen, Llanelli and other centres, an ideal corporate meeting place. Kidwelly, with its Norman castle, industrial heritage museum, Pembrey Country Park and Motorsport Centre, within approximately 10 minutes’ travelling time.
The National Botanical Gardens, Laugharne (famous for Dylan Thomas’ Boathouse) and many Pembrokeshire attractions are about half an hour’s drive. There are many places to visit including Dylan Thomas’ cottage, where he spent the last years of his life. The Millennium Coastal Cycle Path, part of the national cycle path network, meanders through approximately 20 miles of local coastline, passing through local areas of interest. Places to visit include Kidwelly Castle, the Penclawydd Wildfowl Centre, and the Loughor Estuary with views of the Mumbles Peninsula south of Swansea.
