Situated in the Rhins of Galloway in the coastal village of Drummore, Scotland’s most southerly point, these holiday cottages stand on the shore of Luce Bay with its sand and shingle beaches just across the road. The well-equipped cottages offer stunning views across the expanse of Luce Bay with its white tipped waves and sea birds, beautiful in the summer, but equally spectacular for wave watching in winter. The area is unspoilt, the scenery idyllic, and the seascapes around the Rhins as dramatic as they are beautiful. Logan Botanical Gardens are a must during spring and summer with its beautiful displays of rare and native plants, as are the gardens at Castle Kennedy and Ardwell House. 5 miles north of Stranraer is Cairnryan, home to the Stena Line and P&O ferries which make regular trips to Ireland. Whilst on the fringes of Annan itself you can easily walk into the centre of the town where you can enjoy a range of pubs and restaurants, or even take in a film at the local cinema. The area has plenty to interest any age with its many and varied attractions in the surrounding area. From the many historic sites and castles spread throughout the region, to the rugged coastline with lots of little sandy coves, beaches and cliff-top walks to explore. Just along the coast is Powfoot, created in the 1790s as a sea-bathing resort. Set just above the beach, it has an excellent golf course, one of several along this coast. In July enjoy the spectacle of ’Annan Riding of the Marches’, a cavalcade of more than 100 horses riding through the streets of the town.
