It is located just 50 yards from Highley station and the Engine House Museum on the Severn Valley Railway, with steam trains running past the rear of the cottage. Journey from Marylebone station and change at Kidderminster to complete the fabulous journey by steam train. It is a perfect location for exploring the beautiful Severn Valley with its many footpaths, bridleways and river walks, with the famous Severn Way passing directly in front of the cottage and a country park just 50 yards away. The property fuses eclectic style with a modern contemporary feel with period antique furniture. This has to be a ’one off’ property in Cornwall. There are not many houses that sleep fifteen guests in eight bedrooms that have so much space for everyone. The Old Vicarage is a substantial detached house built in the Victorian style that still retains some lovely original features mixed with modern appliances. This eco-friendly property will offer a private, natural water source, smart controls and local produce. The garden is being restored to its former glories, and has already achieved inclusion in the National Gardens Scheme.
The vestibule has a Victorian tiled floor flowing through into a large hallway, while the vicars study contains the vicars original desk and various religious artefacts and is now a useful study area. The living room is complete with a stripped wood floor, open fire and comfortable leather sofas with 55" wall mounted TV, Sonos sound system and views across the garden from the large bay windows. The spacious kitchen and dining room are fabulous rooms for entertaining with a stripped wooden floor, complete with French doors leading out to the garden. The designer kitchen features a SMEG double oven range with six burners and a griddle hot plate, wine chiller and two dishwashers make cooking and meal times a dream. Just south of Staintondale you will find the traditional seaside resort of Scarborough with its busy amusement arcades, a waterpark and sandy beaches. The open air theatre hosts live international acts throughout the summer, and no trip to Scarborough is complete without a stroll around Peasholm Park and the world-famous Peasholm Park Naval Warfare which takes place throughout the summer.
With the North York Moors National Park right on your doorstep there are many walks and cycle routes to explore, or just enjoy a drive through some of the most stunning scenery. There is so much to see nearby but you may fancy a trip further afield to the vibrant walled city of York, an hour away, with its ancient minster and historic buildings.
