Welcome to Violet Bay, this stunning fisherman’s cottage located a short walk from the famous golden sand beach of Weymouth is the perfect place for the family to stay and enjoy their holiday in Weymouth. This recently refurbished property has been completed to a high standard with furniture to match. Entering the property you will notice the living room with the electric log burner, Smart TV, comfy sofa, and a single sofa bed. The dining room is at the rear of the property where there is bench seating for up to six guests, French doors open on to the rear garden which is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening under the stars.
The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven, microwave-oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, and coffee machine. Upstairs both bedrooms sleep 2 with bedroom one with a King size bed and bedrooms two with a twin bed with a zip-link mattress. The bathroom is at the rear of the property where a small step takes you down in a bathroom with shower over bath, toilet, basin, and Heated towel rail. Outside you will also find the utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also an outside toilet. A short walk from violet bay you will be welcomed to the beautiful sites of Weymouth harbour, this once famous fishing harbour is now home to many pleasure boats, small ferries, and many water sport activities for you all to enjoy.
If you are looking for a relaxing day down at the water’s edge you will find plenty of local bars, restaurants, and takeaways to enjoy all day and night. The Weymouth Beach which is positioned in the heart of The World-Famous Jurassic Coast is the perfect bay to enjoy a swim or time with a book on the beach. For the walkers among us, The Jurassic Coastline has plenty of trail walks, make sure you take in the sites of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, you do not want to forget the camera for this trip.
Closer to the property, Portland is a 10-minute drive, which is home of the 2012 Olympic Sailing Academy, Chesil beach, the renowned Portland Bill Lighthouse plus many more. The market town of Dorchester is approx. 20-minute drive, here you will find local markets, museums, restaurants, and bars. Further afield you can take a trip to the Historic Tank Museum or have a day roaming around Monkey World.

Blackhill Gate Cottage is set in an unrivalled rural location offering superb panoramic countryside views across the stunning scenery of the Peak District National Park. Crossing the Derbyshire and Cheshire boundary on the outskirts of the pretty Peak District village of Kettleshulme, this holiday cottage is located next to a field which at times is home to nursery lambs, and offers fine walking direct from the door through the valley of Todd Brook, Bowstones, Taxal Edge and into the Goyt Valley. Kettleshulme itself is home to a 15th century country pub which offers a warm welcome and freshly cooked meals. The town of Whaley Bridge with its mix of shops, bars and restaurants plus train station with direct service to both Manchester and Buxton is a 5 minute drive. The National Trust Lyme Park with its glorious house and gardens can be reached on foot or by car and the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and the popular market town of Bakewell, 45 minute’s drive. A variety of Peak District villages are all easily reachable within half an hour’s drive including Edale, Tideswell and Castleton, and great days out for the family within an hour’s drive include the local Chestnut Centre Wildlife Park, Carsington Water, Matlock Bath with is cable car and the UK’s premier theme park Alton Towers. The large Master bedroom on the ground floor has a stunning four-poster bed and en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath and separate shower, while upstairs the second large bedroom features a wonderful kingsize bespoke bed, beautiful beamed vaulted ceiling and statement lighting. There is also a shower room upstairs with walk-in shower.
Outside you will find a Mediterranean style covered seating area complete with its own chandelier, barbecue area and private hot tub, all soaking up the wonderful views!
Set in the lovely village of Bishopswood, with the Somerset Wildlife Trust running adjacent to the property, you are only 5-minutes’ walk from the local pub and surrounded by miles of beautiful walks. The market town of Honiton is just 10 miles away and the beach at Lyme Regis can be reached within a 30-minute drive. Heading north, you will find the county town of Taunton with lots of restaurants, cinema, bowling and shopping, and within an hour’s drive you will find Glastonbury, Street, Minehead and the moors of Exmoor!
