Boat trips to the Farne Islands leave from Seahouses to see the puffins and seals, or you can take a trip to Holy Island when the tide is out by driving over the causeway. Beach and golf course 2 minutes’ walk. There is on road parking, and you can sometimes manage to park opposite the cottage where there is space for three cars. Delicatessen, post office, shop and pubs, cafés and restaurants 25 yards.

Take a trip across the causeway (at low tide) to Holy Island, a few miles further up the rugged and unspoilt coastline.

Amble is close to the start of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty stretching along the beautiful coastline to Berwick-upon-Tweed, with miles of golden beaches and castles. Be sure to visit Holy Island during your stay. Alnwick Castle is just a few minutes’ drive away where you can explore this historical building, famed for its use in some ‘Harry Potter’ scenes.
    Travelling inland is straightforward from Amble and you can have a great day out in the Northumberland National Park, visiting Kielder Forest Park with its huge forest and reservoir.
