    Two steps lead up to glass double doors which lead you out to a beautifully presented courtyard with ample seating. Fairy lights illuminate this area in the evening, creating a delightful space. Back inside on the ground floor there is also a well-equipped kitchen and utility area with a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and everything else you would expect for a comfortable stay. Heading upstairs, there is a toilet on the landing before you reach the incredible master bedroom on the first floor. This generously sized room boasts wall to wall wardrobes, a kingsize bed and a modern spacious en-suite shower room complete with a dressing table.
    Further up on the second landing is another contemporary bathroom with a shower over the bath. A few steps lead to the first twin bedroom and a double bedroom. This has a separate office area, ideal for anyone who wishes to use their computer while on holiday. Stairs to the top floor lead to a further twin bedroom under the eaves with Velux windows.     Plenty of take-away outlets, restaurants, bars, pubs and shops are within a short stroll of the house, offering a fantastic range of eating options. You can walk to the town centre, the beach, Scarborough Castle or Peasholm Park within ten minutes. A 5-minute walk across North Marine Road provides breath-taking views of the North Bay and Scarborough Castle, with benches where you can rest for a while. You may catch a glimpse of the pods of dolphins that are regular visitors to the coastline.
    A meandering path takes you down to the beach in less than 10 minutes. Once on the seafront over three miles of flat promenade provide the perfect opportunity to walk and explore all areas of the Victorian resort. Either head south below the hilltop castle towards the South Bay, Scarborough Spa and the Italian Gardens, or go north past rows of colourful beach huts towards the Sealife Centre and Scalby Mills. Buses operate continually along this route. Peasholm Park offers wooded walks, refreshments and a lake where boats and pedalos can be hired. The gently shelving, wide sandy beaches at Scarborough have won several awards for cleanliness and there are ample opportunities for surfing and paddle-boarding as well as boat trips for all the family.
    The resorts of Filey, Flamborough Head and Bridlington are further south, whilst to the north, Robin Hood’s Bay, Whitby, Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes are all very popular for day trips. The RSPB bird sanctuary is just along the coast at Bempton Cliffs where thousands of puffins, guillemots, and gannets perch along the rocks. There are viewing points from which to spot all the different breeds of seabirds that arrive every year, as well as the seals that sunbathe on the rocks below. Within an hour you can be in the medieval, walled city of York with its majestic minster standing proudly in the centre of the city. The narrow-cobbled streets, city walls, individual shops and fantastic museums make it an enjoyable day for all age groups. Take a trip on an open top tourist bus or river boat and learn about the history of the famous city. York can also be reached by train direct from Scarborough, so why not leave the car at home?
