A spacious end-terraced Georgian town house set right in the heart of the historic market town of Richmond. Offering on-site gated parking and an outside courtyard - facilities rarely found within the town. With two spacious downstairs reception rooms, both with wooden floors, wood burner, original shutters and plenty of space for a gathering of friends or family. On the doorstep you have a wonderful selection of things to do. For the outdoor enthusiast Richmond is the gateway to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park with fantastic walks and cycle paths. Home to the annual Tour de Yorkshire cycle race, Richmond provides a popular stopping off point for both walkers and cyclists with the popular Coast to Coast passing nearby. Ellerton House offers outside storage for cycles within it’s gated courtyard with keypad entry. Within the historic market town you’ll find cobbled streets and a colourful selection of quirky galleries and antique shops to browse around. For refreshments you’re spoilt for choice with a wide selection of tea rooms, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants selling local delicacies. The majestic Richmond Castle stands high and proud and is open for visits, while the riverside is a beautiful walkway around the perimeter of the town. Todd’s Pasture has nestled in the side of a beautiful valley just outside the picturesque village of Hawnby since the 17th century. Surrounded by the North York Moors National Park, this detached property is simply stunning and is everything you would want from an old Yorkshire farmhouse. There is comfy seating around the wood burner where you can sit and relax whilst enjoying watching the cook in the family make you delicious meals. There are double doors that lead into the sun room which has a large table ideal for enjoying light meals. The formal dining room has a large feature table and enough seating for everyone to gather together. In the central hall you will find a downstairs toilet and cloakroom as well as the entrance to the living room which has three huge comfy settees surrounding the wood burner. The large flatscreen TV is wall mounted above the fireplace to ensure everyone can enjoy evening entertainment or take part in some friendly competition at table tennis, darts or table football which you will find in the garage.
Along the corridor from the kitchen and down a couple of steps, there are two bedrooms offering ground floor accommodation with zip and link super kingsize beds and en-suite bathrooms. Both rooms have lovely garden views and are ideal should you struggle with stairs. Upstairs there are two further bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities. One has a kingsize bed and the other has a zip and link super kingsize bed. All of the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard. With deep mattresses and luxurious bed linen you are assured a great night’s sleep guaranteeing you will wake refreshed and ready for another day exploring the North York Moors. Todd’s Pasture is only 8 miles from Helmsley which is arguably one of Yorkshire’s finest market towns. This wonderful village is where the North York Moors and the Howardian Hills meet offering some of the finest views and countryside. Helmsley is also a walker’s paradise where the Ebor Way meets the Cleveland Way, and also the Inn Way. With a reputation for great Yorkshire hospitality, the market square is a meeting point for walkers, cyclists and locals alike. Helmsley knows how to keep its visitors happy, with many shops, cafés, eateries including Michelin starred restaurants, an open-air swimming pool, walled garden, castle, bird of prey centre, microbrewery, two abbey ruins and the stately home of Duncombe Park. You will need more than a few nights at Todd’s Pasture to experience all that this little town has to offer. Oakridge is a stunning example of 1800s architecture with a luxurious, contemporary interior. This semi-detached property offers a large sociable kitchen/dining room for family meals and playing games in front of the Aga before retiring to the living room. There is a large conservatory that looks out onto the lovely garden, and the utility room has a separate shower room which is great for rinsing off after a dip in the hot tub. The kitchen patio doors open out onto the hot tub and stone-built barbecue area, and there is a separate quieter area at the far end of the garden if you just want to relax and unwind. Hinderwell is a village with excellent local amenities including a good butchers, convenience store, a local pub and a tea room all just a short walk from your doorstep. This quaint village is just a mile from the picturesque fishing village of Runswick Bay, which boasts a sandy cove with opportunities for fossil hunting and rock pooling, yet right in the North York Moors National Park. Head north or south on the Cleveland Way and visit some of the amazing coastal gems such as Staithes, Robin Hood’s Bay, Sandsend or Saltburn.
The bustling town of Whitby is a short drive or bus ride away where you will find so much to see and do. There is a 3 mile stretch of golden sandy beach, traditional amusement arcades and regular boat trips out to sea in search of minke whales and dolphins. There are many bistros and restaurants ranging from award-winning fish and chips to fine dining as well as tea rooms, coffee shops and pubs with live music. If you’re feeling energetic why not attempt the 199 steps up to the abbey that towers over Whitby.
You can drive inland to enjoy the natural beauty and some amazing heritage sites such as abbeys and monasteries within the National Park or catch a steam train as it snakes through the lush countryside to destinations such as Goathland and Pickering. There is a huge diversity of things to do in the area from surfing to golfing, and there is an abundance of walking and cycling tracks. The more traditional seaside town of Scarborough is just along the coast with its two huge bays, and the walled city of York is well worth a visit. Beach ¾ mile.
