    Riverbank cottage is a detached, comfortable family and couples retreat set on the west bank of the river Trent, ideal for those looking for a peaceful holiday or a base from which to explore this historic area. The cottage sleeps six adults and two children comfortably.
    The first floor comprises of a sitting room with views overlooking the river, a family bathroom, a twin bedroom, a double room and a children’s room with a small single and a pull-out bed, only suitable for children, not adults. The ground floor benefits from a twin bedroom, a shower room with a toilet, a utility room, a TV snug and a dining kitchen. The cottage has an enclosed garden with a south-facing patio, garden furniture, barbeque, cycle store and parking for 1-2 cars accessed by an 8ft wide drive.
    Although Althorpe has lost its pub there are many restaurants and eateries in the area including the excellent Ferryboat in the next village. Many shops and restaurants are available nearby, all within three miles along the A18 east.
    There are many good walks and cycle routes and several golf courses only a short drive away. Interesting places to visit include Epworth, the birthplace of John Wesley founder of Methodism, the award-winning Yorkshire Wildlife Park, Normanby Hall and many wildlife and bird reserves. Lincoln, York, Beverley, Cleethorpes and Hull the 2017 City of Culture all less than an hour away.
