Stalmine is located approximately 5 miles from the small market town of Poulton-le-Fylde which has a good selection of shops, bars, and cafés. Other places that are worth a visit along the Fylde coast include Thornton Cleveleys with its old-fashioned charm and promenade, 7 miles, Fleetwood with its Freeport Outlet Shopping Village, 10 miles, and of course Blackpool, 9 miles, whose many attractions include The Tower, Blackpool Zoo, Pleasure Beach, Sea Life Centre, and Madame Tussauds.
Apart from being accessible for the coast, Carr End Barn A is also well-placed for exploring rural Lancashire. Ribble Valley with its pretty villages is within an hour’s drive, and it’s an excellent choice for walks and country pubs. The Forest of Bowland, which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, can also be reached within an hour’s drive. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are also very accessible by road and can be reached in an hour. The city of Lancaster is just 13 miles away and Preston is 19 miles. Beach 9¾ miles. Set across three floors, there is a double bedroom on the ground floor as well as a twin with an amazing Star Wars theme in recognition of the recent filming of the movie in the town. On this floor you’ll also find a beautifully designed shower room, a laundry area with washing machine and drier, and access out to the garden which has a decking area with seating perfect for al-fresco dining. The first floor has a bright and spacious open plan layout with a well-equipped kitchen, dining area and living room complete with a corner sofa, 55 inch TV and stylish electric fire with LED lighting. Upstairs on the third floor, you’ll find the master bedroom with gorgeous views out over the beach and a fourth bedroom with kingsize bed as well as a bathroom with shower over the bath.
Located in the very centre of this bustling seaside resort, Seaview House is just yards away from the seafront as well as being close to a number of bars, restaurants, shops and cafés. There are miles of beach to explore with lots of dog friendly sections for your furry friends. The bright lights of Blackpool are just 4 miles away and can be reached on foot following the promenade along the seafront. Here you’ll find its many attractions including, Blackpool Tower, Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Zoo. Just a few miles further will take you to the rolling sand dunes of Lytham St Anne’s and the cosmopolitan Lytham which holds annual events such as The Proms and a kite festival. Venture inland and you’ll find the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, known for its picturesque country villages, wonderful walking and friendly local pubs. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is also within easy reach as is the Lake District National Park.

Fleetwood makes a good base to explore the Fylde Coast by car, tram or on the ferry across the Wyre to Knott End and Pilling marshes. The area offers a wide choice of entertainment and leisure facilities including boating, walking, cycling and bowling. For those who love golf, Lytham St Annes is internationally famous for its four championship golf courses. The town also hosts various events throughout the year including the Lytham Proms which takes place every August, whilst the popular kite festival is held on the beach at St Annes. The promenade stretches from Lytham through St Annes and on to Blackpool offering a beautiful seaside stroll for those who enjoy walking.
For birdwatchers and wildlife lovers, the Ribble Estuary is home to a diverse range of rare birds, plants, insects and animals. Families will enjoy Blackpool, 7 miles, whose many attractions include the famous Tower, Madame Tussauds Waxworks, Sealife Centre, Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Zoo. Other coastal towns worth a visit are Thornton Cleveleys and Fleetwood, whose designer shopping outlet village is very popular. In central Blackpool yet tucked-away on a quiet residential side street away from the hustle and bustle is the wonderfully calm and serene Little Om. Upon entering the cottage you’ll find a beautifully presented living room with a double sofa bed, and a well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs is the master bedroom, with its peaceful décor and a sumptuous kingsize bed, pride of place together with the family bathroom. Four legged furry friends are welcome to stay, and there’s permit parking available for one car.
Blackpool needs little introduction and offers plenty to do for the entire family, with most of the action taking place around the popular promenade which stretches for 6 miles. Little Om is around a 10-minute walk from North Pier, meaning a vast majority of great attractions are easily accessible by foot. To name but a few, Madame Tussauds and SeaLife Blackpool are around a 20-minute walk, the famous Blackpool tower is 15 minutes, and the historic Winter Gardens around 10 minutes. The closest tram stop is North Pier which operates a regular service from Blackpool South right the way up to Fleetwood, meaning you can really travel in style.
Having so much to do and explore right on your doorstep, you’ll be hard pushed to know where to start. Pub within a mile.

An interconnecting door between the two cottages means that they can either be enjoyed independently or as one larger holiday home. Situated down a private lane on the outskirts of the small village of Pilling, these properties are ideal for exploring the North West coast. Blackpool, Lytham St Annes, Fleetwood and Poulton-le-Fylde are all within a short drive. Alternatively, the Trough of Bowland, Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are all easily accessible by car. Two well stocked fishing lakes can be found within the farm’s extensive grounds and this is offered free of charge to guests. Shop and pub ½ mile, restaurant 3 miles.

The front door leads to a vestibule with a boot rack and coat hooks, leading into the kitchen. The kitchen is bright and equipped with everything you may need, along with a small breakfast area where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. The original pantry is located off the kitchen providing extra storage, a washing machine, and an iron and ironing board. Adjacent to the kitchen is the living room where you will find a cosy sofa and armchair, plus a dining table and chairs. This room also benefits from a wood burner, TV, and DVD player. On the first floor are two spacious bedrooms, one double, and the other a twin, both beautifully furnished, with ample storage. The contemporary bathroom is also on this floor and features a large walk-in shower, sink with vanity unit, mirror, toilet, and heated towel rail. We recommend settling in and then popping next door to a hotel where you can sample their traditional beers, excellent wines, and homemade food. A restaurant serving tasty food and drink is also within walking distance.
Conder Green is a pretty location near Lancaster and is a fine place for a walk, bike ride, or kayaking. The area includes the picturesque Glasson Dock, the Lancaster Canal, and views of the tidal River Conder which runs through the area. This dog-friendly cottage is the ideal starting point for visiting The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and other regions of Lancashire, including the coastal towns of Morecambe, Blackpool, and Arnside. Lancaster University and Lancaster city centre are both within a 10-minute drive.
You can walk, cycle, bird watch, and boat at Conder Green, which is located beside the picturesque salt marshes of the Lune estuary. If you love the outdoors and being close to water, this property won’t disappoint!

This large, imposing, Victorian, terraced property has been the subject of a full renovation in 2022. The entrance hall leads to the open plan living/dining room where you will find plenty of comfy seating, a gas fire, and Smart TV to cosy up in front of after a day at the seaside. Morecambe is a seaside resort with a sandy beach and long promenade. On the north end of the promenade, you can find Happy Mount Park, open all year round. A traditional park with an adventure playground, summer splash area, sports pitches, events, and cafe. On the southern end of the promenade an internationally renowned Art Deco hotel, designed by Oliver Hill and restored for the 21st century. Non-residents can enjoy sophisticated glamour, afternoon tea and classy cocktails here. For wetter days or evening entertainment, a bowling alley is located on Central Promenade with its ten bowling lanes, a restaurant and a bar. If you wish to venture further, historic Lancaster is a short drive away. Lancaster Castle is a must see, as is a visit to Willamson Park and Butterfly House. West End Bay is ideally located for a trip to Yorkshire Dales, Forest of Bowland and of course The Lake District which are all areas of outstanding natural beauty. Beach ½ mile.

There really is something for everyone; golf at the prestigious Royal Birkdale, bird watching along the coast, and the very rare red squirrels at Formby. Southport itself boasts a theatre, lovely parks and Splash World, as well as playing host to a wide selection of events ranging from the National Fireworks Display, and an air show together with jazz, food and drink festivals. Liverpool can be reached in approximately an hour by car and Chester, Manchester and Preston are all within driving distance also. Cleveleys has a real holiday atmosphere and is home to plenty of shops, pubs, bars and restaurants, all within easy reach from the property.
