    Cromwell House is situated in Winforton just 6 miles from the literary town of Hay-on-Wye and is full of fabulous artwork and luxury throughout. Hay-on-Wye, with its renowned festival every year, is definitely the place to be for those who love books, art and quirky shops, as well as lots of pubs and restaurants. Those looking to explore the open countryside can enjoy walks from the door and there are fabulous views of Hay Bluff from the bedrooms of Cromwell House.
    The town of Hereford is 15 miles away with its cathedral to explore, which is also the location for the famous Mappa Mundi and Chained Library exhibition. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants. The historic town of Brecon is 22 miles from the property and has an array of coffee shops, art galleries, and much more; the regimental museum is also worth a visit. Those in search of adventure can head to Pen Y Fan and take in the breathtaking views of the rolling countryside.
    Cromwell House has an open plan living space; the living area has a cosy open fire you can curl up in front of and watch a film or sport on the Smart TV, which offers Sky and Netflix. Patio doors lead out onto the enclosed lawned garden from where you can admire views of the rolling hills of Hay Bluff whilst sitting in the egg chair! On the first floor is an office space with a Mac computer, and two bedrooms (one kingsize and one double), each with fitted wardrobes and views over Hay Bluff. The family bathroom has a free-standing bath, shower cubicle and heated towel rail, whilst the master bedroom offers a super kingsize bed, a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite shower room with a heated towel rail.

    A most charming, characterful cottage providing spacious, comfortable accommodation in the idyllic Herefordshire countryside. There are some lovely walks from the door, particularly to Garway Hill, said to be the most beautiful place in Herefordshire, offering stunning views over 5 surrounding counties. The cottage is also ideally placed for you to experience canoeing along the Wye River, swimming in the River Monnow, or hiking on Offa’s Dyke or The Three Castles Way. Horse-riding, rock climbing, canoeing, fishing and caving are all within easy reach in the Wye Valley, the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. The cottage is also close to the Forest of Dean with its cycling paths, picnic sites, Sculpture Trail and family attractions such as Go Ape. A 20-minute drive away is the cathedral city of Hereford, and the market towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth, which host a variety of quality restaurants and independent shops. For sightseeing, memorable days out can be had at the Blaenavon World Heritage Site, the Roman Caerleon, and Goodrich, Raglan or Eastnor Castles. Golf is possible at Hereford, Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth, and racing found at Chepstow and Cheltenham. The famous book town of Hay-on-Wye is reached after a beautiful drive through The Golden Valley.
    After a busy day exploring all that Herefordshire has to offer, enjoy an evening dining in the garden, watching the sun set over the glorious countryside. On the cottage’s ground floor, beyond the entrance porch, you will find the kitchen, with its beautiful wooden work surfaces, food preparation island, and the easy-to-use, hard-to-beat electric Everhot cooker. The kitchen is well equipped for making casseroles, cakes, and tray bakes. The open-plan dining room is the perfect space for enjoying meals with family and friends around the large farmhouse-style table. There are two steps up into the living room with its large, comfy sofas, the wood burner and a smart TV. If you want to get away from the television there is another living space in the glorious sunroom, which has folding glass doors leading out onto the south-facing front patio. There is a ground-floor toilet and a separate utility room with a tumble dryer. On the first floor you will find three bedrooms, one with a super kingsize bed, and two with twin beds. The bathroom has the best views from the cottage and has a stand-alone roll-top bath, shower cubicle, handbasin and toilet. Off-road parking for up to three cars is available in the gravel yard opposite the cottage, just across the road, where there are also some fruit trees.
