Alnwick, EnglandSet in the small, picturesque village of Rock, The Old Workshop has been fully converted to create a single-storey holiday cottage. Built in 1856, this property comprises a spacious open-plan living area with large French windows leading onto the patio, linked to the stylish dining kitchen area. Guests are welcome to use the culinary herbs at the front of the cottage for cooking during their stay. There is solid oak flooring throughout the property. The small entrance hall links to the spacious bedroom which has large built-in wardrobes, and there is an outside boot and wellie rack.
The Old Workshop forms part of the Rock village estate and is well placed for easy visits to the stunning Northumbrian coastline and fabulous local countryside walks. The village has a well-marked trail past the ancient church. The golden beaches of Newton-by-the-Sea and Embleton are less than 5 miles away. Combine a fabulous coastal walk to Dunstanburgh Castle and back with lunch overlooking the sea in the quaint fishing village of Craster, world famous for its smoked kippers and salmon. Golfers are spoilt for choice being within easy reach of many first-class coastal courses. Inland, the Northumberland National Park is a stunning area of natural beauty, a magnet for cyclists, bird watchers and anglers.
