The grand drawing room at first floor level has French doors opening onto the balcony and is the perfect spot to sit and watch the myriad of boats bobbing in the water or sailing by at high tide. There is also a small kennel for a dog in the courtyard.
Instow is an unspoilt seaside village with large stretches of sandy beaches and dunes, fishermen’s cottages, shops and a good selection of pubs and restaurants specialising in locally caught seafood whilst the local village store and delicatessen is a delight. The area is a must for watersports, sailing enthusiasts and fishermen, whilst walkers and cyclists will enjoy the famous Tarka Trail which passes close by.
Further afield, the rugged North Devon coastline and wonderful surfing beaches of Croyde or Woolacombe are just a short drive away. North Devon is well positioned for visits to Exmoor, Dartmoor and North Cornwall including the local beauty spots of Bucks Mill, Clovelly and Hartland. With so much to explore in this lovely part of North Devon, this is the perfect base for a memorable holiday. Golf is available locally, and Bideford is just 3 miles away, with family attractions including The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks. - Brixham, EnglandA delightful property set within walking distance of Brixham town centre and the harbour. Situated in an elevated position in a quiet residential area of Brixham, with panoramic views of the town with its many brightly coloured cottages. Contemporary in design and tastefully decorated and furnished throughout, it is set over three levels, with the kitchen/dining room on the lower ground floor. The south-facing living room, on the ground floor, opens onto a lovely balcony with table and chairs, which overlooks the enclosed garden. Brixham is a lovely seaside town and is still one of the busiest working fishing harbours in the area. The harbour is full of little fishing boats and trawlers and some of the best fish and chips can be enjoyed here. The town offers all the usual tourist shops along with many restaurants and coffee shops, and has a regular bus service which will be able to take you into Goodrington, Paignton and Torquay without having to use your car. There is so much here for all the family to enjoy, including the water park at Goodrington, Paignton Zoo and living coast at Torquay. There are also many other quieter days out such as Greenway Mansion, the home of Agatha Christie, or taking the steam train trip up to Buckfastleigh and visit the otter and butterfly sanctuary. From here you can follow the coastal footpath and catch the water taxi to Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo. Mount Batten for water sports and yachting is just 5 minutes away. The city of Plymouth is just 7 miles away, and in recent years has gone through a face lift with its new shopping mall and regenerated waterfront areas.
