Brixham is a lovely seaside town and is still one of the busiest working fishing harbours in the area. The harbour is full of little fishing boats and trawlers and some of the best fish and chips can be enjoyed here. The town offers all the usual tourist shops along with many restaurants and coffee shops, and has a regular bus service which will be able to take you into Goodrington, Paignton and Torquay without having to use your car. There is so much here for all the family to enjoy, including the water park at Goodrington, Paignton Zoo and living coast at Torquay. There are also many other quieter days out such as Greenway Mansion, the home of Agatha Christie, or taking the steam train trip up to Buckfastleigh and visit the otter and butterfly sanctuary. Car and passenger ferry from Kingswear to Dartmouth 1 mile. Totnes 8 miles. Shops ¼ mile, pub 200 yards.

The one hour cliffside walk from Branscombe to the quintessential fishing village of Beer is a particular highlight with breathtaking scenery and ocean views. You can explore Heritage coast footpaths from Branscombe and Sidmouth in one direction and Lyme Regis and Seaton in the other. Enjoy freshly caught fish and chips and an ice cream whilst searching for fossils along the Jurassic Coast. The Regency seaside town of Sidmouth is just three miles away where you’ll find a great range of attractions and activities, including a visit to the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary. For the little ones, the World of Country Life, Crealy Adventure Park, Beer Quarry Caves, Bicton Gardens and Pecorama are all within a short drive.
