They each have their individual character including beams and most with wood burners. Duval Priory (ref 9985) dates back to 1086 is also Grade ll listed and enjoys its own private hot tub. Guests can also enjoy the cycle path around the grounds.


With the River Exe, Devonshire Heartland, Somerset and the North Devon coastline on your doorstep, the properties are situated in an excellent countryside location offering a good base to explore the beautiful area and are within easy driving distance of Exmoor National Park and the Devon and Somerset border.


Golf, horse riding, cycling, and fishing are available locally, and clay pigeon shooting, fly fishing. Take a stroll next to the river in the 20-acre grounds. Alternatively, there are many delightful, scenic countryside walks to be found nearby including the spectacular scenic coast between Minehead and Combe Martin. Tiverton, 7 miles, offers a selection of shops, restaurants, and pubs as well as the famous Grand Western Canal and Bickleigh Castle.


The nearest coast with sandy beaches and family attractions including Somerset World and West Somerset scenic steam railway is at the seaside resort of Minehead. The medieval town of Dunster with its magnificent castle, deer park and mill, and the historic cathedral city of Exeter with its variety of shops, restaurants, theatres, racecourse and the Maritime Museum are both 20 miles away.


Delightful Bickleigh, 8 miles, has lovely, thatched inns overlooking the river serving good food and local ales, the perfect location to get away from it all. Taunton, Ilfracombe, Sidmouth, Seaton, and Exmouth within easy driving distance. Standing in 17 acres of working farmland, accessed by a steep country lane, this self-contained holiday cottage forms half of this extremely large Victorian farmhouse. The owner, who resides in the other half, offer a warm welcome. This holiday cottage has ⅓-acre gardens and patio to the side of the house, giving plenty of space in which to relax or for the children to play. In addition, there is now an additional pretty garden area to the rear of property exclusive to visitors and easily visible from kitchen and some bedroom windows. This provides an additional large seating area and table with fire pit/BBQ looking out over field and hills beyond. Set within open countryside, offering lovely walks, fishing and plenty of opportunities to see the varied wildlife.
The interesting market town of South Molton, with its honey farm, is 2 miles. This is a good location to explore the North Devon coasts. Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks, and sandy beaches can be found within 20 miles. Squash, tennis and golf are available in Chittlehamholt. Many breathtaking gardens to visit close by. A trip to Ilfracombe will delight the discerning visitor, where there is variety of activities available, and a pretty harbour and small beach on which to bathe. Situated in a quiet part of Cadeleigh, these beautiful, detached, barn conversions overlook the ponds and the deer with amazing views across the rolling hills of Devon. All of the properties have their own private garden and on balmy summer evenings, is the ideal spot to relax with the prossecco which the thoughtful owners will leave for your arrival. Most of the properties have a private hot tub, except Deer Park, so don’t forget your towels!

With these properties being located on a deer farm, red deer and amazing stags can be seen close up, and there are sometimes otters in the ponds. Although the ponds are unfenced, the properties gardens are fenced, so there is some barrier between the garden and ponds.

The village of Cadeleigh lies just 9 miles from Exeter, with its magnificent cathedral and many shops and canalside pubs. Tiverton is just 6 miles away, and Bickleigh Mill with its lovely river walks, small fun railway, shop and café, is nearby. Spend a day exploring tranquil moorland and winding rivers in the Exmoor National Park, as well as the breathtaking coastline full of secluded bays and spectacular cliffs. Exmoor is sprinkled with quaint villages, attractive towns and charming harbours. Enjoy a day out at Tiverton Canal, walk with the horse drawn canal boat or enjoy a boat trip. Withymead Cottage is nestled on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Bishopsteignton, next door to a working vineyard, and just outside the seaside towns of Teignmouth, Shaldon and Dawlish. The property is entered via a gate beside the parking area, which is for up to two cars, and shared with the owners, who live next door. The garden is enclosed with fabulous countryside views and a lovely outdoor seating/ BBQ area, which is tranquil, relaxing, and with afternoon/evening sun. It is pet friendly and perfect for walkers and birdwatching, or just to relax and get away from it all.

Entering the property you will find a level open plan living space, with a fully equipped kitchen, dining table and comfortable lounge area complete with a wood burner, Smart TV and sofa bed if required. Chulmleigh is a Saxon hilltop village made up of thatched cottages, traditional pubs and a small collection of independent shops. There is a children’s play park, and dining options consist of three pubs in the town, a cosmopolitan restaurant and an Indian restaurant/takeaway.

Chulmleigh town centre is now a conservation area and the rich grassland found here is home to the largest population of otters in any natural area in England. The area provides access to an abundance of leisure activities including walking, cycling, fishing, golf and horse riding along with a number of historic houses and gardens in the vicinity.

Guests can enjoy the best of coast and country with Dartmoor and Exmoor nearby, as well as the North Devon coast in one direction and the cathedral city of Exeter in the other, all within an hour’s drive.

There are two rivers (The Little Dart and Huntacott) meandering through the grounds and a private fishing lake where guests can enjoy free fly and coarse fishing and catch carp, rudd, chubb, roach, brown trout and tench. There is also complimentary fishing on both rivers where brown trout, sea trout and salmon can be caught together with coarse fish.

South Devon has much to offer including Paignton with its steam railway, which will take you to Dartmouth. Take a trip to Brixham and nearby Dartmouth to see the castle and take a boat trip around the bay. Sherrill Farm Holiday Cottages is a complex of 13 delightful self catering cottages (refs UKC1427 to UKC1439), converted from the original 300 year old barns and farmhouse set within 16 acres of Devon farmland. Clustered around the central courtyard, the properties retain many original features and are charmingly furnished and decorated, with well-equipped kitchens. (Some properties are adjoining, whilst others occupy either the ground floor or the first floor of the same cottage). Located near Dartmoor and midway between Tavistock and Launceston on the Devon/Cornwall border, in wonderful rolling countryside.

This farm complex is a superb place for the entire family, and all guests have use of the large indoor heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, gymnasium, bowling alley and games room. This leisure complex is open daily until 9pm. After an energetic swim you can step out onto the surrounding sun terrace and enjoy the stunning south-facing views, whilst the children keep themselves entertained in their own play area. There is also an all-weather tennis court available and rackets can be hired on site; a picnic area and a summerhouse along the banks of the ponds. There are three ponds within the grounds, one has been especially created to encourage wildlife and is set in beautiful surroundings. The other 2 ponds have been stocked with fish for those wishing to try their hand at this relaxing pastime (rods can be hired on site). Many bird species can be seen in the area as it is so quiet here and foxes and badgers are often seen on a summer’s evening.

A short drive away is the beautiful Tamar Valley dividing Devon and Cornwall, with picturesque and historical riverside villages including Morewellham. Within minutes you can be venturing out onto the Dartmoor National Park with over 250,000 acres of wild rugged open moorland, a haven for hikers or dog walkers. There are many exciting places to visit including Morwellham Quay and the National Trust properties of Cotehele, Buckland Abbey and Lydford Gorge with its White Lady Waterfall.

The historic market town of Tavistock is just 6 miles away and is a popular town with indoor pannier market and local shops selling locally produced foods. Horse riding is also available locally, as is trout fishing. Why not try canoeing on the River Tamar, or perhaps cycling on the Plym Valley track?
