The property features a split level, open plan living and dining area, each with bi-fold doors opening out onto patio areas, affording stunning sea views, with gardens front and back. Dog friendly, this is the perfect place from which to explore this unique part of Cornwall.
The house is tastefully furnished and comfortable all year round with a wood burner and central heating. Standing on the headland above the picturesque village of Port Gaverne, the house is a few steps from the north Cornwall coastal path. The beach at Port Gaverne is a 6-7 minute walk away and a little further is Port Isaac, with its huddle of slate houses and narrow alleyways.
The state-of-the-art kitchen is great for catering and cooking the fresh local produce. There are two excellent fish shops in Port Isaac that sell their daily catch of fish and shellfish; specialities are crab and lobster.
Local lamb, beef and pork are all available at the nearby farm shop, which has wonderful views overlooking the sea.
Famous now as the setting for the TV series ’Doc Martin’, Port Isaac is a working fishing village with shops, bars and several top-quality restaurants.
This area is now renowned as a ’foodie paradise’, with several celebrity chefs located here and the area is very well served by a whole variety of dining places to fit every pocket.
Close by is a hotel and next door is a bistro, which has indoor and outdoor dining. There are two Michelin starred restaurants in Port Isaac run by Nathan Outlaw. Nearby in Padstow is Paul Ainsworth’s Michelin starred restaurant and he has a great pub too. Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and Cookery School are in Padstow. Rick Stein also has a number of other restaurants with varying price ranges.
This is an ideal spot for those who enjoy coastal walks, bird watching, golf, fishing, surfing, sailing, kayaking, cycling or just lazing on the beach. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. The cliffs, caves and rock pools are a children’s paradise.
Within an easy drive are Padstow, Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude and Wadebridge.
Wadebridge hosts one end of the Camel Trail, with a 5-mile dedicated cycle ride to Padstow on the old railway track, alongside the picturesque Camel Estuary. To the north stands Tintagel’s medieval castle and the quaint fishing village of Boscastle, with Crackington Haven and Bude a little further on. Inland lies Jamaica Inn and Bodmin Moor, the setting for the ’Poldark’ stories.
A few minutes’ walk away is a water sports centre, Cornish Rock Tors, based on the beach at Port Gaverne. They offer kayaking, paddle boarding and coasteering for individuals and groups. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. Water sports can be enjoyed at Rock, from where a passenger ferry crosses the Camel Estuary to the town of Padstow. Daymer Bay has another glorious sandy beach, and the golf course at St Enodoc is open to the public. John Betjeman, the late Poet Laureate, is buried at St Enodoc Church, with its twisted spire.

This historic, spacious, terraced, 500-year-old former church house sits peacefully beside the village green and war memorial, in front of the 12th-century Norman church of St Andrews. The house has been lovingly restored and retains many original features.
The large living room and dining area, with its 16th-century ceiling beams, are great for a family gathering, or a cosy night in beside the wood burner. There is a small part-covered, shady, internal courtyard room with a flagstone floor, fountain, window seat and small outdoor table and chairs.
All 4 double bedrooms have either cupboard or hanging rack space for clothes/storage. The second floor bedroom runs the length of the cottage and has huge, original 16th-century A-frame roof beams and three, heritage Velux-style windows. The cottage is just a few steps from the village post office, shop and an excellent hair salon. Just beyond that are the two village pubs, The Tree Inn and The Kings Arms.
Jalna is the perfect coastal holiday choice close to the Victorian seaside town of Bude with its glorious sandy beaches and breath-taking South West coastal path scenery. It is the ideal escape venue in which to spend time with friends and family.
Bude is incredibly popular all year round, with its castle heritage centre, a vibrant town centre and an array of restaurants and bars, together with two sandy beaches and the nearby coastal path. It retains its Victorian charm whilst offering something for everyone. The food scene around Stratton and Bude has really taken off. There are regular food markets and artisan pop-ups in addition to the array of restaurants, bakeries and wine merchants.
The Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club is close by. Paddle boarding, surfing, golf, tennis, horse riding and fishing are all on offer in the area. The internationally acclaimed annual jazz festival is fantastic and not to be missed. The Splash leisure centre, with an indoor swimming pool and ten-pin bowling alley, is a short drive away.
Widemouth Bay is only 3 miles further down the coast and has a stunning beach. The picturesque fishing villages of Rock and Padstow are within easy driving distance, as is the mysterious Tintagel Castle of Arthurian legend. The wild beauty of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are all easily reached, as is the famous Eden Project. For family fun, the Big Sheep and Milky Way adventure parks are not to be missed. The Camel Trail can be accessed in nearby Wadebridge, where bikes can be hired to cycle to Padstow. Nearest beach is under 2 miles. At the bottom of the steps from the cottage, there is a wonderful café, whilst a pub is a short walk away. You can stroll to the beach and take in the views or away from the village there is a plethora of fun days to be found. The South West Coast Path offers beautiful walks and provides outstanding clifftop vistas, whilst the beautiful Lost Gardens of Heligan and unique Biomed Eden Project are must-visits. To the north lies Charlestown, timeless and with its small fleet of tall ships, a popular location for many films and TV series. There are some excellent restaurants here and the Shipwreck Museum.
The town of St. Austell has many amenities and shops, along with many visual links to the once incredible mining industry here, whilst inland the town of Bodmin, with its chilling jail experience and heritage railway await you. Harrowbeard House is a spacious and contemporary detached family home, built by the owners in the centre of the village of Marhamchurch. Set in the pretty and quiet little village of Marhamchurch, it is just 2½ miles to the fabulous coastline and popular beaches, including Widemouth Bay and the tourist hot spot of Bude. The traditional village inn is just a short walk away and has a menu featuring local produce. The village shop is also just a short walk away. Bude has three sandy beaches and a good selection of shops and restaurants, many specialising in locally caught seafood, along with a golf course, tennis, horse riding, an indoor splash pool, surf schools and bowling. The picturesque fishing villages of Tintagel, home to the mystical ruins of a 12th-century castle, Rock and Padstow are close by, and this breathtaking coastline boasts many unspoilt beaches and hidden coves. The wild beauty of Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin moors are all within easy driving distance, as is the fabulous Eden Project. The Light House is in the pretty little village of Gwithian. The Light House is a spacious, dog-friendly, four-bedroom cottage, with an open plan, feel on the ground floor where the conservatory links through to the living room and kitchen. The garden is mainly laid to lawn with a patio to the rear of the house, a great spot to enjoy some al fresco dining or a barbecue. There is a ground floor double bedroom that would ideally suit one person but could accommodate a couple. On the first floor the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and views towards the sea, and another bedroom has a bunk bed. Up on the second floor accessed by steep stairs is a twin bedroom. Please note that the ground floor double bedroom and the shower room can be separated from the rest of the ground floor with the pull down roller blind.
Blasted by the breeze off the Atlantic, the magnificent beach at Gwithian Towans is always a colourful scene of windsurfers on the water, blow karts on the beach and kites in the sky. Backed by sand dunes, tufted with wild grass, at low tide, there is a vast amount of sand to enjoy, and large areas of rock pools are uncovered, which are great for kids to explore. The beach is dog friendly for most of the year with restrictions only applying between 10am and 6pm in July and August. Gwithian Towans is lifeguard patrolled (during high season). There is some great countryside to explore near here, but a highlight is the stunning coastal road between St Ives and St Just where the moorland meets the sea - wild and dramatic! If you take the train to St Ives, the line hugs the coast, and the views are quite beautiful, and the restaurants are superb. Both the north and south coasts are easily accessible, making it an ideal location for those looking to take advantage of the great surfing spots available in this part of Cornwall. St Ives, once a busy fishing village, now relies on tourism as its main industry. Turner came and painted a landscape in 1811 and art has played a part in St Ives history ever since. More recently Barbara Hepworth and the Tate Gallery have put St Ives on the modern map. Beach 1⅓ miles.

The mosaic tiled floor invites you into the hallway where instead of a living room you will now find bright, freshly decorated bedrooms complete with tasteful soft furnishings, blending with the property and its location. There are three en-suite shower rooms fully equipped to a high standard with modern walk-in showers. There is also a superb separate family bathroom finished to the same style and standard. The ground floor also has the advantage of under floor heating (rooms separately controlled), plus a utility cupboard with washing machine and tumble dryer. From the hall the turning spindle staircase rises to the first floor bringing you to a large living room created to take advantage of the sea views to the front, while French doors open out to a superb spacious decking area perfect for sun bathing, al fresco dining, barbecues or just to take in the view. To the opposite end of the property is the delightful spacious luxury kitchen and dining room. Fitted with a variety of high spec appliances such as an electric double oven, ceramic hob, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There are also plenty of work surfaces for preparing the family meals. The dining table seats eight people with the advantage of sea views. There is a relatively steep path from the garden down to Lower Castle Road providing easy access to the Tresanton Tavern Beach and the rest of the village.
