Beautiful views along the Cornish coast greet visitors to this single-storey, light and spacious property. The property features a split level, open plan living and dining area, each with bi-fold doors opening out onto patio areas, affording stunning sea views, with gardens front and back. Dog friendly, this is the perfect place from which to explore this unique part of Cornwall.
The house is tastefully furnished and comfortable all year round with a wood burner and central heating. Standing on the headland above the picturesque village of Port Gaverne, the house is a few steps from the north Cornwall coastal path. The beach at Port Gaverne is a 6-7 minute walk away and a little further is Port Isaac, with its huddle of slate houses and narrow alleyways.
The state-of-the-art kitchen is great for catering and cooking the fresh local produce. There are two excellent fish shops in Port Isaac that sell their daily catch of fish and shellfish; specialities are crab and lobster.
Local lamb, beef and pork are all available at the nearby farm shop, which has wonderful views overlooking the sea.
Famous now as the setting for the TV series ’Doc Martin’, Port Isaac is a working fishing village with shops, bars and several top-quality restaurants.
This area is now renowned as a ’foodie paradise’, with several celebrity chefs located here and the area is very well served by a whole variety of dining places to fit every pocket.
Close by is a hotel and next door is a bistro, which has indoor and outdoor dining. There are two Michelin starred restaurants in Port Isaac run by Nathan Outlaw. Nearby in Padstow is Paul Ainsworth’s Michelin starred restaurant and he has a great pub too. Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and Cookery School are in Padstow. Rick Stein also has a number of other restaurants with varying price ranges.
This is an ideal spot for those who enjoy coastal walks, bird watching, golf, fishing, surfing, sailing, kayaking, cycling or just lazing on the beach. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. The cliffs, caves and rock pools are a children’s paradise.
Within an easy drive are Padstow, Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude and Wadebridge.
Wadebridge hosts one end of the Camel Trail, with a 5-mile dedicated cycle ride to Padstow on the old railway track, alongside the picturesque Camel Estuary. To the north stands Tintagel’s medieval castle and the quaint fishing village of Boscastle, with Crackington Haven and Bude a little further on. Inland lies Jamaica Inn and Bodmin Moor, the setting for the ’Poldark’ stories.
A few minutes’ walk away is a water sports centre, Cornish Rock Tors, based on the beach at Port Gaverne. They offer kayaking, paddle boarding and coasteering for individuals and groups. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. Water sports can be enjoyed at Rock, from where a passenger ferry crosses the Camel Estuary to the town of Padstow. Daymer Bay has another glorious sandy beach, and the golf course at St Enodoc is open to the public. John Betjeman, the late Poet Laureate, is buried at St Enodoc Church, with its twisted spire.

This historic, spacious, terraced, 500-year-old former church house sits peacefully beside the village green and war memorial, in front of the 12th-century Norman church of St Andrews. The house has been lovingly restored and retains many original features.
The large living room and dining area, with its 16th-century ceiling beams, are great for a family gathering, or a cosy night in beside the wood burner. There is a small part-covered, shady, internal courtyard room with a flagstone floor, fountain, window seat and small outdoor table and chairs.
All 4 double bedrooms have either cupboard or hanging rack space for clothes/storage. The second floor bedroom runs the length of the cottage and has huge, original 16th-century A-frame roof beams and three, heritage Velux-style windows. The cottage is just a few steps from the village post office, shop and an excellent hair salon. Just beyond that are the two village pubs, The Tree Inn and The Kings Arms.
Jalna is the perfect coastal holiday choice close to the Victorian seaside town of Bude with its glorious sandy beaches and breath-taking South West coastal path scenery. It is the ideal escape venue in which to spend time with friends and family.
Bude is incredibly popular all year round, with its castle heritage centre, a vibrant town centre and an array of restaurants and bars, together with two sandy beaches and the nearby coastal path. It retains its Victorian charm whilst offering something for everyone. The food scene around Stratton and Bude has really taken off. There are regular food markets and artisan pop-ups in addition to the array of restaurants, bakeries and wine merchants.
The Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club is close by. Paddle boarding, surfing, golf, tennis, horse riding and fishing are all on offer in the area. The internationally acclaimed annual jazz festival is fantastic and not to be missed. The Splash leisure centre, with an indoor swimming pool and ten-pin bowling alley, is a short drive away.
Widemouth Bay is only 3 miles further down the coast and has a stunning beach. The picturesque fishing villages of Rock and Padstow are within easy driving distance, as is the mysterious Tintagel Castle of Arthurian legend. The wild beauty of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are all easily reached, as is the famous Eden Project. For family fun, the Big Sheep and Milky Way adventure parks are not to be missed. As for things to do in the area, Pendeen and its surroundings offer a wealth of activities and attractions. The area is surrounded by mining heritage, and you can visit Geevor Tin Mine or Botallack mines featured in Poldark. Portheras Cove is ½ mile away, and Portherras Beach (a secluded and dog-friendly cove perfect for picnics and paddling) is one of the many beaches in the area. If you travel further you will come to Porthcurno beach, a stunning secluded beach and how to the famous outdoor Minack theatre, carved into the cliffs. The nearest town is St Just full of artisan shops, galleries restaurants, pubs, and cafes, for a full day out head to Lands’ End just over 10 miles away.
Two dogs are welcome (but please keep off the furniture!) and there is a designated doggy shower outside as well as dog hairdryer.

The ground floor is home to four modern styled bedrooms, three of which have en-suite shower rooms. There is also a separate family bathroom. The property is a short walk to the centre of St Mawes which offers a variety of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants, plus the harbour, beaches and the regular ferry crossing to Falmouth.
As you enter the property at the ground floor level the house starts to reveal its secrets. The mosaic tiled floor invites you into the hallway where instead of a living room you will now find bright, freshly decorated bedrooms complete with tasteful soft furnishings, blending with the property and its location. There are three en-suite shower rooms fully equipped to a high standard with modern walk-in showers. There is also a superb separate family bathroom finished to the same style and standard. The ground floor also has the advantage of under floor heating (rooms separately controlled), plus a utility cupboard with washing machine and tumble dryer. From the hall the turning spindle staircase rises to the first floor bringing you to a large living room created to take advantage of the sea views to the front, while French doors open out to a superb spacious decking area perfect for sun bathing, al fresco dining, barbecues or just to take in the view. To the opposite end of the property is the delightful spacious luxury kitchen and dining room. Fitted with a variety of high spec appliances such as an electric double oven, ceramic hob, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There are also plenty of work surfaces for preparing the family meals. The dining table seats eight people with the advantage of sea views. Set to the front exterior of the property is the gated cobbled parking area for approximately two cars plus an electric car charging point. Stone steps lead up to the decking area which is surrounded by a garden and flower beds.

If you are looking for an old style, traditional Cornish cottage then look no further. Bellas Mouse is a characterful three-bedroom and three reception room cottage with a self-contained one bedroom annex and a garage and parking. This is a fabulous option for extended families who want to holiday together but would like the option of having some independence.
Found in the old heart of Penryn, just a mile from Falmouth, this vibrant historic waterside town has a range of pubs and eateries including a great fish and chip shop.
Enter through a gate in the wall into a private courtyard with stable doors into the main cottage and the annexe. The annexe has a studio room which has a kingsize bed, an en-suite bathroom and self-contained kitchen, which has access to the garden. The main cottage is delightfully quirky! The two main reception rooms and the two main bedrooms are dual aspect, and the exterior doors are all partly or fully glazed. This allows for the light to make the most of the cottage’s character and shows off the thick and curving walls, typical of a property of this era. This includes low door frames upon which you may bang your head. The kitchen leads out into a little walkway courtyard with steps up to the garden. From the dining room there are steps up to the stairs and down to a cloakroom and a utility room with a door out to the garden. The garden is lovely and private with water views and glimpses over the Falmouth estuary. Bellas Mouse is an old property built on different levels. It has many original features, including low narrow doorways and passages. There are small steps to some of the downstairs living rooms and upstairs to the bedrooms. The stairs to the bedrooms are quite steep and there is no hand rail. Feedback from some guests have cautioned that for anyone with depth perception problems or for those with limited mobility or with young children, the stairs and steps can be disconcerting. The back garden is quirky, quite small and terraced with changes of level and there are steps to access it from the cottage. Shute Lane is typically Cornish; steep and narrow thus making access to the cottage and garage tricky in places.
There is a garage for parking up the lane from the cottage and a second small car can fit in front of the garage doors. The garage is perfect for storing water sports equipment, bikes etc, the owner has provided a hose that can be used to wash down wetsuits. On arrival and departure, it is fine to pull down the lane to quickly unload into the courtyard. The cottage is just a few minutes’ walk from the train station and has excellent public transport links to Falmouth.
