Within easy reach are the famous Battle of Britain Aircraft Museum and the East Kirby Lancaster Museum, RSPB Gibraltar Point, NT Gunby Hall, Snipedale Nature Reserve and Forest, and the historical city of Lincoln with its cathedral, castle and excellent shopping. Kingfisher Oast is a Grade II listed building forming part of a country estate in the heart of Hollingbourne village.
The oast was used for the storage of hops, and there are cute markings in one of the bedrooms recording the hop pickers activities dating back to the mid 1700s. The cottage has three bedrooms, all ensuite and a lovely sociable open plan living space on the ground floor. A bottle of English wine awaits your arrival.

Glendale Cottage (ref W43490) and Glendale Mews (ref W43489) are the ideal spot for a relaxing and peaceful holiday in beautiful natural surroundings. There is an indoor, heated swimming pool which guests can hire for private use (at cost), and also the use of over 11 acres of natural woodland and grounds that form part of this beautiful location. The owners live on-site in the original period farmhouse, accessed via a driveway lined with rhododendrons through a small dense wood. There is a small wooded picnic and play area with a log cabin function room and a large charcoal BBQ, as well as another wooded area accommodating hens and a natural pond. There is access to a public footpath from the properties.

Ash Lodge is a brilliantly spacious and bright three bedroom lodge, refurbished in 2019 and set within the family friendly Retallack Resort. This welcoming lodge is set in a wonderful location, whether you want to relax in stunning rural Cornwall or visit the famous coastline nearby.

When you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a large open plan living, kitchen and dining area which becomes flooded with natural light. Whether you want to prepare a delicious home cooked meal for the family, gather around the table or relax in front of the TV with a good film, this is the most inviting space. Ash Lodge also has three cosy bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an additional living and dining area on the first floor which opens out onto a delightful private balcony.

The seaside towns of Paignton and Torquay are 40 minutes’ drive, and it is just a 15-minute drive to the yachting haven of Dartmouth, and the coastline between Dartmouth and Kingsbridge, both 7 miles away, has many stunning beaches, hidden coves and fantastic coastal walks.

There is a large games room set over two floors, including a fitness room with a cross trainer, treadmill, rowing machine and exercise bike. The top floor of the games room has a full-size American pool table, big sofa and Sky TV. The bottom floor has table tennis and table football. On-site there is also a laundry and ironing room. The Wheeldon Off-Road Centre, adjacent to the cottages, boasts a purpose-built, 30,000 square foot indoor arena (split in separate halves for motorbikes and bicycles) and junior training circuit, and is the ideal year-round venue for the whole family to learn to ride a motorcycle in a fun and controlled environment. Discounted rates are available for children and adults during the school holidays (booking by arrangement and on arrival), providing children and adults with the opportunity to experience the ultimate, two-wheel off-road adventure for the first time. The instructors at Wheeldon Farm are all ACU accredited and will guide the children through their paces every step of the way. Guests have full access to the indoor heated swimming pool, a children’s play area, restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, clubhouse hosting seasonal on-site entertainment, and a bar with pool table and dart board.

You are spoilt for choice with excellent sandy beaches, big open skies and breath-taking sunrises. There are plenty of attractions for all ages to enjoy; Oulton Broad is a short drive away, the southern gateway to the Norfolk Broads National Park, also popular with speed boat racing during the summer. Lowestoft has two piers, classic arcade games, a shopping centre and eateries. The traditional seaside resort of Great Yarmouth offers the Pleasure Beach, beach fronting with amusements, donkey rides, pitch and putt, fun fairs, pier, promenade and much more. Pleasurewood Hills theme park also offers a fun day out.
