Downstairs you will find two double bedrooms with outstanding views, one of which has an en-suite walk-in shower room. Head upstairs where there are a further two well-presented bedrooms, comprising of a king size bedroom with another en-suite walk-in shower room, and a triple bedroom, each promising a delightful space to wake up to each morning. Upstairs is the main family bathroom with a modern bath and overhead rain shower. Head outside to the garden with outstanding uninterrupted views over the Cheviot Hills, a truly idyllic sun trap. Head into Chatton: a gorgeous country village nestled in the pretty Northumbrian Valley, bordered by the Cheviots. The local hotel and restaurant serving excellent food, a well-stocked village store and Chatton art gallery compliment the quaint village atmosphere. Keen walkers are sure to be impressed by St Cuthberts Way, a 100-kilometre long-distance trail between the Scottish Borders town of Melrose and Lindisfarne off the coast of Northumberland, named after a 7th-century saint. The nearby town of Wooler is set along the last leg of the journey, so you needn’t traverse the full length. Wooler itself is just under 4 miles away and features a good range of shops, pubs, restaurants, and facilities. If you fancy something exciting, why not visit Chillingham Castle, only a short drive away, and book onto one of their ghost tours! Why not try something a little different? Discover your inner country-self and try clay pigeon shooting at Fowberry Moor Farm in Wooler, where they also offer wine tasting!
A 20-minute drive brings you to the popular village of Bamburgh a stunningly attractive small village set on the northern stretch of the Northumberland Coast. It is without doubt dominated by its magnificently striking castle that can be seen for miles around. Why not hit the waves yourself with a trip to the Farne Islands? Take a boat trip from Seahouses and see the Medieval Pele Tower and Victorian Lighthouse, as well as the famous seabird colony. Depending on the time of year, you might catch a glimpse of the friendly seals and puffins that visit the islands’ shores. Golfers flock to Bamburgh, where the Bamburgh Castle Golf Club offers a particularly picturesque round. It’s short but tough and boasts some of the best views in the country! Take a walk around the village where you will find a small but well stocked village shop with a post office, a friendly community pub and a children’s playground which are only a 7-minute walk away. There are no direct bus routes in or out of the village, however, Newport (approximately 11 minutes’ drive away) and Market Drayton (approximately 11 minutes’ drive away) offer supermarkets, independent shops, cafés, bars, and restaurants to suit all tastes along with the weekly country market, monthly farmers’ market, canal walks and swimming pools/leisure centres, you have the ideal places to discover on your holiday.

Riverside Mill is a real gem of a traditional cottage, enjoying the peace and tranquillity of a riverside location yet just 4 miles from lively and bustling Kendal and the Lake District National Park. Beautifully renovated, Riverside Mill offers superb accommodation and is perfect for a family or group of friends who want to explore this picturesque corner of the country, whatever the time of year. The first thing that strikes you about this beautiful single-storey cottage, built from the local stone, is the stunning location, right on the banks of the River Mint.
Step inside and there’s a large and character filled open-plan living and formal dining area, split over two levels, with original exposed cruick beams and a magnificent inglenook fireplace with wood burner. This spacious, detached, dog-friendly holiday cottage is set over three floors with three bathrooms, and has a lovely hand-built kitchen with dresser and large dining table. The living room with the woodburner gives way to a games room for the children with a playstation console and various board games. Set in a privileged position in the heart of this fishing village, made famous by the TV series Doc Martin, you are just 200 yards from an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, and the coastal path which passes close to the property. From here you can take in the breathtaking views across the Atlantic Ocean and walk north towards Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, or south towards Polzeath, with its sandy surfing beach. Rock is a 5 mile drive from Post Isaac, where you can enjoy the many watersports on offer. You can walk or cycle along the Camel Trail, a disused railway line that follows the Camel Estuary to the market town of Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin. Ancroft is a very small rural village, it sits just 5 miles from the popular Berwick Upon Tweed, take a stroll to one of four beautiful beaches, offering water sporting opportunities, breath-taking scenery, and plenty of family excitement, you’ll truly be spoilt for choice. Enjoy a relaxing game of golf, or enrich yourself with the history of Berwick Castle, involved in many Anglo-Saxon wars, there’s plenty to uncover. Take a scenic stroll along the River Tweed before enjoying a spot of lunch in one of the many eateries on offer or take a trip to nearby Duns to discover its award-winning butcher and delicatessen, alongside being an exciting hub for racing enthusiasts with its Jim Clark Museum and the Jim Clark Rally. Also, in easy reach of Bamburgh, a stunningly attractive small village set on the Northern stretch of the Northumberland Coast. It is without doubt dominated by its magnificently striking castle that can be seen for miles around, giving the whole village a somewhat dramatic feeling. You can’t fail to be impressed by the sheer scale of the castle once you are up close and in the village itself. There is much to do in the village alongside the castle and its amazing history, there are impressive stretches of pure golden sandy beaches, many English tea rooms and restaurants, and a newly renovated museum dedicated to Grace Darling.

Just a short walk from Crooklets Beach and the glorious coastal path in the popular seaside town of Bude, this delightful Grade II listed holiday cottage nestles in a small hamlet and is the perfect choice for a family escape or a relaxing retreat with friends. Dating back to the 14th century and boasting its own large walled garden, Tremaer retains many original features, including exposed beams, stained glass, and a large stone fireplace with clome bread ovens. Appleby is close to the course of a 268-mile National Trail, which passes by on its way from Middleton-in-Teesdale to nearby Dufton. With High Cup Nick and Dufton Pike on the trail and just a short drive away you have some amazing walks and adventures, while the Lake District National Park is less than 30 minutes away in car. You can take a trip on a lake cruiser or enjoy the epic scenery only found in the Lake District National Park.

The wonderfully welcoming owners have furnished the property with total guest comfort in mind and will be there to meet and greet you upon arrival. You will have the personal touch of them being on hand during your stay if you require, available to tailor your visit to your total satisfaction. E-bikes can also be booked before your arrival, by direct arrangement with the owners. The local area has an abundance of pubs, cafes, and a local shop/post office all only a short drive away. Langwathby train station is close by where you can ride the Carlisle to settle route, the cottage is also on the C2C route.
For busy days of exploration walking straight from Cherry Cottage, be sure to visit Lacy’s Caves, a series of five chambers carved out of the sandstone cliff, set along a beautiful walking route with views of the river and a wonderful garden to admire. Just a short walk from the village you can find Long Meg and her daughters, one of the finest stone circles in the north of England- ask the owners for its mythical and mysterious legend! These beautiful attractions can be enjoyed doing a circular walk.
If you are looking for activities to occupy the family, in the next village of Hunsonby there is an outdoor swimming pool open from April to September, and the village of Winskill has a large playground with zip wire to entertain our younger guests.
