From here, there are spectacular views of St Ives Harbour, Godrevy lighthouse, Gwithian and Hayle Towans.

St. Ives is a beautiful resort and can easily be accessed on foot via the South West Coastal Path or take the coastal train for spectacular clifftop views. St Ives has much more to offer than just beautiful beaches. Take a boat trip, wander around the shops or visit the Tate Gallery or Barbara Hepworth Museum. Cafés, restaurants and pubs are plentiful. For dogs, there are plenty of woods, coastal and scenic walks within easy distance of the cottage or take the South West Coastal Path to Porthkidney Beach which is dog friendly all year round. At the end of the day head back and enjoy the solitude, sit outside and watch the incredible night skies whilst you plan the next day’s adventure.

The Lakehouse is a two-bedroom holiday home located within the 100-acre Devon Sculpture Park Estate, surrounded by wild spaces in the centre of Mamhead Woods and stunning views across the Devon coast and countryside. This offers the ideal spot to take time out, enjoy the magnificent sculptures and to relax. It is tucked away in a private woodland glade, with nothing but the sounds of nature for company. Floating above the lake, the decked veranda is the perfect spot for your morning yoga session or to enjoy a cocktail after a long day at the beach. It sits right against the lake with the wooded Haldon Hills behind it and the sculpture filled park and pastures below.

The lake itself was designed by Britain’s greatest gardener, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, and creates an incredible ambience, particularly at sunrise and sunset when light and colour are reflected across the clearing.

The cathedral city of Exeter is a short easy drive and offers a range of popular shops and boutiques, restaurants, theatre, cinemas, and other leisure facilities. The 3,500-acre Haldon Hills Forest Park is just 5 minutes’ drive away and is criss-crossed with walking and cycling trails for all abilities. The property is also within easy reach of Teignmouth Golf Course and various cycling trails, and is on the same site as The Orangery (UK44434).

The interior of the cottage has been completely renovated throughout to an exceptionally high standard. Inverspey lies on the Spey Bay Trail and on the edge of Spey Bay, a beautiful hamlet that leads directly onto the bay and the River Spey. The immediate area is renowned for its wildlife with the National Scottish Dolphin and Whale Centre just a few yards from the cottage, where you can learn about the amazing bottlenose dolphins and other wildlife that are regularly seen close by, including seals, osprey, minke whale and even rare sea eagles. The centre also runs bat watching tours and the opportunity to explore the UK’s largest surviving ice house. Spey Bay is home to the largest shingle beach in Scotland. There are wonderful walks direct from the cottage along River Spey, renowned for its salmon fishing (permits available locally, in season). The Spey Bay golf course is just a few minutes’ walk away; this lovely coastal links course is open to visitors and there are discounts available for guests, who can also visit the club house, which serves meals and also has a bar. The Malt Whisky Trail is situated over nine locations in Speyside and is well worth a visit. There are numerous sporting activities locally, including sailing, kayaking, fishing, golf, cycling and hill-walking, as well as plenty of interesting places to visit within a short drive. Rosary House is a spacious stone farmhouse which was built in 1750 and is located in the quaint village of Irton, 4 miles from the glorious golden Cayton Bay, with the larger coastal destinations of Scarborough and Filey also within a 15-minute drive. You can dine out at one of the many local village pubs in Irton, and the award-winning fish and chip shop which are only a short walk away. If you would like to venture a little further, Whitby is only a 40-minute drive, or you can experience an old-fashioned steam train ride from Pickering to Whitby. Families can enjoy a day out at the Sea Life Centre in Scarborough or Flamingo Land, near Pickering, only 30 minutes away. You can hop on the train to the historical city of York for a day trip and The North York Moors are right on your doorstep for great walking routes.
