About this property

The King’s Head, in Richmond, North Yorkshire is a super dog-friendly hotel. Built-in 1717 as a gentleman’s townhouse, its fine Georgian architecture is matched by its warm and relaxed ambience. It is thought to have been named in honor of Charles II. Comfy and characterful, the dog-friendly rooms to the front of the building are spacious with traditional furnishings and retain plenty of Georgian features, one of which was used by Franz Liszt performed a piano recital. Richmond itself has many attractions including a Norman castle situated above the banks of the River Swale and the ruins of Easby Abbey. There are numerous walks for you and your furry friend to explore including riverside walks, woodland walks and the remains of the Georgian racecourse. The hotel features in travel writer Alfred Wainwright’s coast to coast walkers guide.

Dine with Your Dog

Dogs are welcome to dine with you at the hotel. In the morning you can take your furry friend with you to eat in one of the charming lounge areas, which feature period fireplaces. And in the evening they can join you for supper in the Snug bar which serves everything from gin cocktails to craft beers and traditional British and international dishes. Dogs are also welcome in the coffee shop

Bow wow factor

Your dog will be made to feel very welcome from the moment you step in and will love relaxing in the Snug bar.
