About this property

As you sweep up the long tree-clad drive and glimpse the beautiful facade of dog-friendly Glenapp Castle, you will be astounded by its sheer magnificence. With turrets, towers and crenulations it is a fine example of Scottish fairy-tale baronial style. A luxury dog-friendly five-star hotel. It is Victorian in design, with lots of wood paneling, period features, and log fires creating a warm friendly home from home atmosphere. The dog-friendly suites are beautifully furnished, large and spacious and have direct access to the courtyard. Your dog will definitely feel like a king of the castle here and will have a blast exploring wonderful grounds, woodlands and forest which encapsulate the hotel. The castle also boasts breath taking views out to the sea and the famous volcanic outcrop of Alisa Craig. Beyond that, you can see the Isle of Aran and Holy Island, dogs are welcome aboard the Glenapp Boat which is available for both full day and half day exclusive hire. And as well as wonderful walks there’s also a tennis court, croquet lawn and wellies provided as well as fine dining from a Michelin trained chef.

Dine with Your Dog

Dining at Glenapp is a truly unique experience. Indulge yourself in either the three course gourmet menu or the six course tasting menu, all prepared by the Michelin trained chef Ian Bennett and his team. The daily changing menus showcase the local Scottish produce grown on site and sea food that is line caught off the Ayrshire Coast. Your dog will be happy to relax in your room after the activities of the day, leaving you free to enjoy Glenapp’s 3 AA Rosette dining. Dog sitting can also be arranged on request. Alternatively, your dog can join you for a private a la carte dinner in one of the four sections of the newly built Victorian Glasshouse in the walled garden.

Here where there are many lovely dog-friendly walks within the park. Raiders Road is a favourite area for locals and is a great place for a picnic and day out with your dog.   If you decide to take a Glenapp boat trip your dog will be able to join you. We also suggest a visit to dog-friendly Culzean Castle and Country Park which has fantastic walking trails and is a fabulous dog-friendly location with beaches, woodland and green spaces.
