The charming 'Old Wing' dates back to 1757, with the 'Wharfedale Wing' added in 1981 by the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire. For those seeking ultimate relaxation, the fabulous spa features a sauna, steam room, pool, and Rasul. A range of treatments is available, and the spa is decorated with artwork from the Chatsworth's Devonshire Collection, one of the finest private art collections in Europe. The Garden Room's chefs have a reputation for creating innovative dishes that reflect the local area and seasons, using ingredients harvested from the hotel's own kitchen garden. During the summer months, the Garden Room also serves a seasonal afternoon tea in the Italian garden. Wherever possible, ingredients are sourced from the hotel's own kitchen garden. You have the option of pre-dinner drinks or desserts served in the dog lounge — an elegant sitting room with an open fire and canine-inspired décor and artwork. Alternatively, you can dine with your dog in the bar area of the Brasserie restaurant. If you prefer, you may leave your dog in the room, or they can be looked after by reception.
The Garden Room is a thoughtfully curated dining experience, inspired by the vibrant flavours of Europe and Yorkshire's local bounty, with the relaxed ambiance of a charcuterie and wine bar. There is a separate dog friendly area in the Garden Room so your dog can accompany you whilst you dine, tables are limited.

Not our style
If you like old, dated, and dogs even in the one restaurant open in the evening then this hotel will work for you, but not us. Our room was spacious but dated and there were several maintenance issues. Staff were pleasant. 5% service charge added to bills.
