Raydale is a haven for wildlife, with hares and deer often sighted in the surrounding fields at dawn and dusk, along with a wide variety of upland bird life including pheasant, partridge, curlew, duck and of course, Lake Semerwater stocked with a variety of fish. The hamlet of Marsett is set high in the hills above Bainbridge, providing far reaching panoramic views of the dales and fells beyond. Wind your way up the cottage staircase to the spacious first floor where you will find three beautifully presented bedrooms and the house bathroom. The master bedroom offers a king size bed and en-suite shower room.

Step outside and Ashley Cottage continues to impress. From the kitchen, there is access to the side patio where you can watch the world go by and enjoy a morning coffee. To the rear is the enclosed garden with a neatly trimmed lawn surrounded by borders packed with traditional varieties of plants and flowers. The village of Seaton Ross offers many local services including a village shop and a delightful pub, both equal distances from the cottage. At the foothills of the Wolds, the cottage is in a perfect position to explore the beautiful countryside, with a place to lock your bike should you want to do this on two wheels. You are a short drive away from the market towns of Pocklington and Market Weighton. Both offer a plethora of restaurants, independent shops, tea rooms and supermarkets. A day in Beverley or York should not be missed and Ashley Cottage also provides a great base from which to enjoy the stunning East Yorkshire Coastline.

A two-minute stroll takes you into the heart of the village, where you will find a well-stocked village store and next door to the cottage a popular coffee shop serving a selection of delicious cakes and savouries. The three pubs in the village all provide local ales and homely fayre. The Yorkshire Dales offer spectacular scenery and an abundance of walks of all ability levels to explore. From the cottage there are beautiful walks along the banks of the nearby River Ure and the Askrigg Waterfalls Walk, which takes in both Whitfield Force and Mill Gill Force. For the more adventurous, longer walks and climbs in Wensleydale and Swaledale are within easy reach. The Yorkshire Three Peaks can be accessed from Horton-in-Ribblesdale, 40-minute drive away. For more restful days, there is so much to see and do within an easy distance. Picturesque Aysgarth Falls and Castle Bolton are nearby, and the market towns of Leyburn and Hawes are a short drive away. The Forbidden Corner in Middleham, a quirky venue with its labyrinth of caves, folly and underground caverns, is 13 miles away, and is hugely popular with families. The historic town of Richmond, famed for its castle, Georgian theatre, riverside walks and abundance of independent shops and tea rooms, is around a 30-minute drive.

Set in the hamlet of Starbotton in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this Grade II listed, end of terrace cottage dates back to 1663. A little further afield lies the bustling market town of Skipton with its Norman castle standing proudly at the head of it wide, sweeping, cobbled high street. Alternatively kick back in the local pub, 200 yards, which serves food and local ales. The nearby village of Kettlewell, approximately 2 miles away boasts three pubs, tea rooms, a village shop and various events during year including The Scarecrow Festival.
