Walk direct from the door over the nearby moors or take a 5-minute stroll into the nearby traditional market town of Hawes. Here you will find a good mix of shops with something for everyone including antiques, traditional country clothing, fashion and gift shops interspersed with tea shops, restaurants and pubs. Alternatively visit the Wensleydale Creamery, famous for its cheese endorsed by Wallace and Gromit or visit the Dales Centre Museum. Nearby Semerwater, a large, natural lake provides a wealth of activities such as swimming, fishing (licence required) and sailing. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

For refreshments you’re spoilt for choice with a wide selection of tea rooms, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants selling local delicacies. The majestic Richmond Castle stands high and proud and is open for visits, while the riverside is a beautiful walkway around the perimeter of the town.
