Adjoining the owner’s home, and tastefully decorated throughout with spacious living areas. Facilities for the disabled are available, the access is wheelchair friendly and on the ground floor there is a walk-in bath with a removable hydraulic bath seat, and a bedroom has adjustable beds. The glistening Loughor Estuary is on the doorstep and provides a haven for waders and geese at the National Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Centre, 3 miles. The picturesque Millennium Coastal Path (and 12 mile bike track) to Pembrey Country Park leads you along the idyllic shores, with spectacular views of the Gower Peninsula (AONB). For a family outing, visit the scenic Pembrey Country Park, 8 miles, and discover its 7 miles of sandy beaches set within the forest, featuring a dry ski slope, horse riding trails and model steam engines. For the sports enthusiasts, visitors can enjoy a round of golf at the Jack Nicklaus course or watch live sport at the Llanelli Scarlet’s Rugby Stadium and nearby Ffos Las racecourse. Away from the coast, Carmarthenshire countryside is just as promising with its array of charming market towns such as Llandelio and Carmarthen, as well the many enchanted medieval sites dotted around the county, including Kidwelly and Dinefwr 12th century castle and Heritage park. The whole area is blessed with an abundance of walks and cycle trails, many taking in the sights where the TV detective series ‘Hinterland’ is filmed. Guided Hinterland walks are also available to book locally. The scenery within the Cambrian Mountains is unsurpassed and a must do is a trip along the Vale of Rheidol steam railway from Devil’s Bridge, just 5 miles away. You will also find a pub, café, a small chocolate factory and shop here. The steam railway meanders to the coastal town of Aberystwyth, travelling through the Rheidol Valley.
The seaside town of Aberystwyth offers an array of shops, restaurants and cafés, as well as the pier and promenade. To the north end of the sea front is the Victorian Cliff Railway, taking passengers on the stately journey to the summit of Constitution Hill, where you can enjoy a coffee whilst taking in the magnificent views of Cardigan Bay. Being a university town, there’s a very good arts centre and theatre, and the national Library of Wales offers free guided tours. If it’s beaches you’re after then Ceredigion has a stunning selection and over 60 miles of coastal path too. At the northern end of the superb Borth beach, is the impressive sand dune system of the Ynyslas National Nature Reserve and visitor centre, which juts out halfway across the Dovey Estuary. Visit Ynys-Hir, the RSPB wildlife haven and the Dyfi Osprey Project.
Dyffryn Haidd is just 9 miles away from the historic market town of Tregaron, which was once famous as a strategic point for drovers taking animals from west Wales to the markets in England. Today it is a centre for ‘Trotian’ - horse trotting and carriage racing which attracts competitors from all over the UK and Ireland for its events. It is also the home to the Welsh Gold Centre which sells Celtic inspired designs. Tregaron is a ’walkers are welcome’ town and the annual Bro Tregaron Walking Festival held in May is a firm favourite on the walking calendar.
Ceredigion is perfect for a short break, or equally a longer stay away, with stunning landscapes, award winning beaches, sea cliffs, wonderful wildlife, and starry dark skies. This distinctive region with a thriving cultural identity will offer you a “croeso cynnes”, or warm Welsh welcome, with Dyffryn Haidd as the perfect place to start your adventure. This gorgeous, semi-detached cottage, situated in the village of Llangattock, overlooking the River Usk, has been restored to a high standard with your comfort in mind. The ground floor of the property compromises a large kitchen and an open plan living/dining room with a wood burner. Upstairs you will find three lovingly furnished bedrooms, one with the added benefit of en-suite facilities, as well as a family bathroom. The outside of the property has an enclosed garden with lawned area, as well as a patio area complete with a private Jacuzzi. There is also a barbecue and for those who enjoy cooking there is a pizza oven. Adjacent to the garden you will find a garage to store bikes and any outdoor equipment. This is also used as a games room and features a table tennis table, pool table and dart board and two arcade games. There is a hot outdoor shower near the hot tub.
Honeycott lies within walking distance of the historic town of Crickhowell, named the 2019 ’best place to live in Wales’ by the Sunday Times, and also ’best high street in Britain’ 2018. There is an array of amenities there including boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants. For those who enjoy music festivals, Crickhowell is home to the Green Man during August. The town of Abergavenny is 6 miles away and there you will find some fine dining restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Walnut Tree Inn and The Hardwick Restaurant owned by chef Stephen Terry. The town is host to the annual food festival in September. Brecon is just 14 miles away from Honeycott and has lots of places of interest to visit such as the Welsh Regimental Museum and Brecon Cathedral, and it is also home to a jazz festival every August. For those wanting to explore the area on foot, Pen Y Fan, South Wales’ highest peak, offers great opportunities. Sugar Loaf Mountain also nearby and is the southernmost of the peaks in the Black Mountain Range. The multi-award winning tea room nearby enjoys a unique setting on the point at Lawrenny Quay offering local produce including lobster and crab - a great place to watch the yachts go by.

A charming barn conversion with a small, pretty, walled courtyard garden tucked away down a quiet lane in the heart of the historic walled town of Pembroke and within a short drive of the beautiful South Pembrokeshire Heritage Coast.
Comfortable, warm and well equipped, the cottage is ideal for all year-round holidays and has a ground floor bedroom as well as two bedrooms on the first floor which have oak floors, beamed ceilings and radiators providing central heating.
The ground floor is Travertine marble with underfloor heating throughout. The spacious kitchen is extremely well equipped, there is a cosy living room as well as a sun room which opens onto the garden where there is a separate external games room housing a pool table, dart board and table tennis table- great fun for all the family.
South Pembrokeshire is often referred to as ’little England beyond Wales’. The locals speak English, place names are English and yet the area is surrounded by Welsh speakers on all sides even in north Pembrokeshire! During the 12th century Henry I allowed a number of Flemish to settle in the area and they were soon joined by English settlers. The Flemish and English languages were similar at the time. This led to the extinction of Welsh in the area.
Pembroke is an historic town with its magnificent Norman Castle set high on a ridge between two tidal inlets and is famous as the birthplace of Henry VII and the Tudor Dynasty. Visitors are rewarded with a fascinating insight into the medieval lifestyle.
There are scenic walks nearby including one around the picturesque mill pond with its resident swans, herons and ducks. The high street, lined with predominantly Georgian buildings has a variety of restaurants, cafés (including an award-winning fish & chip restaurant), shops, pubs and antique centres and is within a 5-minute stroll.
