Presteigne, WalesGlan Y Nant is a static caravan set in its own garden overlooking a stream and fields. It is located in a rural area surrounded by wildlife and scenic views, and is a good base for hikers, dog owners, cyclists, birders and nature lovers. It is ideally situated to visit the Welsh towns of Presteigne, Knighton, Builth Wells (Royal Welsh Showground 11 miles away), Llandrindod Wells or to follow the Black and White village trail through Herefordshire. It is also suitable as a base for the Hay-on-Wye Book Festival and Brecon Jazz Festival. If after a day of exploring you want to eat out there are pubs in Llanfihangel, Hundred House, Knighton, Presteigne, Titley and Kington.
There are three steps along with a ramp to enter the caravan, and inside you will find a well-equipped kitchen and a welcoming open-plan living room with a separate dining area. Hidden below one of the bench-style sofas is a sofa bed suitable for young children. The living area has an electric fire that enhances the cosy ambience. There is a double bedroom with an en-suite toilet with a sink. The single bedroom is next to the family bathroom which has a shower cubicle, heated towel rail, toilet and sink. Blaenau Ffestiniog, WalesThis lovely quirky property is wedge-shaped, built in the angle of two terraced properties so is wider at the front than the back. There is still plenty of space inside though, and the property is beautifully presented with an open-plan living space, exposed slate walls and a modern kitchen for preparing delicious meals. Upstairs there is a large main bedroom, off which there’s a door to the smaller single bedroom.
The village of Ffestiniog (not to be confused with its larger neighbour the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog) is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Snowdonia National Park. There is a lovely pub just two minutes’ walk away serving delicious bar meals, whilst a wide selection of eateries are available just a few minutes’ drive away. Nearby, the former slate capital of the world, Blaenau Ffestiniog, is home to Zip World where you can experience the worlds’ largest zip wire zone as you zoom high over an old slate quarry. You can also go deep underground at Bounce Below and try out the nets and slides deep in an old slate cavern the size of St Paul’s Cathedral! You will hear the little steam trains of the famous Ffestiniog Railway as they bustle down the line on the spectacular journey to the coast at Porthmadog. Come and enjoy Trondra House set on the edge of the picture postcard coastal village of Ferryside on the mouth of the estuary where the river Towy joins the Carmarthen Bay Ferryside’s history is unique and today it still possesses a charm and character. The pretty Italianate village of Portmeirion, location of the cult TV series ‘The Prisoner’ is also close by. Criccieth is a pretty village watched over by a medieval castle, and boasts a lovely beach and a good selection of restaurants and shops. Brecon, WalesTowe Cottage is a homely place to stay for your South Wales break. The cottage comfortably sleeps three guests and has all the facilities you need for your break.
