Set within the grounds of the owners’ non-working farm, The Cottage offers a sense of exclusivity and privacy, allowing you to immerse yourselves in tranquillity and peace.
As you step into the property, you’ll be charmed by its tasteful decor, with furniture mainly sourced from the renowned OKA collection, creating an ambiance of elegance and comfort. The property is all on one level located on the ground floor. The living room beckons with its snug ambiance, boasting a Smart TV with Sky for your entertainment. Although we kindly ask that your furry friend remains on a lead in the garden, they can freely explore the 5-acres of private woodlands and paddocks which is fully enclosed to roam freely.

Test your skills and push your limits with a range of thrilling activities such as rock climbing, archery, and off-road biking. Within an hour’s drive, you can reach Bristol and Bath. Explore Glastonbury’s Abbey and Tor, Wells’ cathedral and Bishop’s palace, or Cheddar’s famous caves and gorge. All within 30 minutes and promising delightful adventures. Barrowswood, a semi-detached holiday cottage (ref 29842), enjoys commanding views over Cheddar Gorge in the distance. Its large garden adjoins a field with occasional visiting sheep and is the perfect spot in which to relax and unwind. Strawberry Lodge (ref 29841) stands detached at the far end of the grounds of Barrowswood, enjoying woodland surroundings with magnificent views over the field and across to Cheddar Gorge. Blackberry Lodge (ref W44121) is a single-storey, detached lodge, ideal for a romantic retreat for couples. All three properties may be booked together should you have a larger party.
Cheddar village offers plenty of interesting shops and cafes as well as other attractions. Cheddar Gorge, Britain’s largest limestone ravine gouged through the Mendips, is a magnet for climbers, walkers and visitors to the floodlit caves and Cheddar Reservoir is a great place to take a picnic, look out for wildlife and join in activities such as sailing and angling. Axbridge is a charming market town with a medieval square and half-timbered buildings, whilst Wookey Hole attracts many visitors to the showcaves. Wells is England’s smallest city set around a cathedral; Wedmore is a lively town with many individual shops and eateries, Glastonbury is famous for its music festival, spiritual culture and King Arthur legends, and the coastal resorts and magnificent beaches at Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Berrow and Brean are all within a short drive, as are the cities of Bath and Bristol. This farmhouse annex property is a great base for exploring the wonderful Somerset countryside, set in the rural village of Weare, just outside the historic market town of Axbridge. It is perfect for families or couples, and the owner lives on-site. The property offers a kitchen/dining room with feature inglenook fireplace and French doors leading onto an enclosed spacious garden. There is a bedroom downstairs with twin beds. On the first floor is the living room with a large viewing window, here you can just sit back, relax and look out onto the breathtaking views over the Mendip Hills and Cheddar Gorge. Also on the first floor is the master bedroom.
This is a great property for visiting the many attractions Somerset has to offer, including Glastonbury, with its tor and abbey, and Wells, with its cathedral and The Bishop’s Palace. You can also visit the wonder of Cheddar Gorge and its caves, and not forgetting Wookey Hole. Bath is a short drive away with its famous abbey, Roman Baths and Thermae Spa, along with gorgeous Georgian architecture. If you are looking to explore slightly further afield, Longleat, with its safari park, Stonehenge and Avebury are all within a 1.5 hour car journey - and are always a great day out. This detached property is set at the bottom of the owners grounds and is surrounded by 360 degree views overlooking the beautiful Mendips and Quantock Hills. This makes an excellent base for walkers and nature lovers alike. The lodge is situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and surrounded by beautiful countryside, with some fantastic walks, great for your four legged friends to join you. Electric cars may be slow charged using an outdoor standard 3-pin socket (at cost, by arrangement with owner).

The market town of Axbridge is only 2 miles away and the bustling village of Wedmore with its great restaurants, shops and tearooms only 4 miles. You will be spoilt for choice here with so many places of interest to visit, including Wells Cathedral, England’s smallest city with its Bishops Palace, and Glastonbury with its famous tor and abbey. Step into Christmas (Cottage), this unique maisonette which dates back to the 1800’s has been expertly restored to its former glory. Built into the famous Cheddar Gorge this is one property you will not want to miss.
Entering via a metal side gate up a flight of steep stairs, you arrive to the lower deck, perfect for people watching or enjoying the summer sun. Enter directly into the kitchen/dining area where you are welcomed to a large space for the whole family to enjoy their evening meal or breakfast with views across the River Yeo and park. The kitchen is fitted with double electric oven, gas hob, integrated fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave and is also decorated at christmas with garlands above the top cabinets, festive bunting and fair lights. Stepping through the wooden double doors is where you are greeted to the fanatic theme of Christmas all year, not just in December. The living room comprises of comfy sofa, Smart TV, wood burning stove for those cold winter days (wood burner available for use during winter months only from 1 November to 31 March) and window seats overlooking the river and waterfall.
Upstairs on the second floor there are three bedrooms, each bedroom has its own theme, The ’Robin’ bedroom features a kingsize bed, The ’Woodland Bedrooms’ has a small double and ‘Elf Room’ is a small single bedroom. The family bathroom is fitted with shower cubicle and bath. There is LED lighting including a back lit mirror that creates a soft light for relaxing in the bath. Take the small steps up to the upper deck garden/decking which is four floors above the ground. This is a stunning garden which is not to be missed, built into Cheddar Gorge you have a brilliant 180-degree view across the river, up the gorge and down into the village; this can also be the perfect place to star gaze.
Another awesome feature of the cottage is the location, leave the car and stroll into the village centre where you will be greeted by a myriad of pubs, tea rooms, independent stores and of course the Famous Cheddar Cheese shops! For the more adventurous, walk-through Cheddar Gorge, tackle Jacobs Ladder and explore the fantastic caves. Beach 12 miles.

Welcome to Eynhallow, a truly fabulous two-bedroom cottage in the heart of famous Cheddar. Renovated in 2023 to a high standard it provides a comfortable and welcoming retreat for your stay. On the ground floor, you will find an extremely well quipped kitchen with everything you could need during your stay, whether whipping up a feast or a small breakfast. There is even a utility with a washing machine and dishwasher! The living/dining room has a comfy sofa and chairs to relax into, so why not light the wood burner, sit back and watch a box set on the smart TV after a day walking the gorge or the Mendip Hills? The dining area is the perfect spot for enjoying a meal or playing a board game with your friends or family.
Upstairs, you have two spacious bedrooms, one double and one twin as well as two bathrooms, one with shower cubicle and the other with bath and shower over. Outside, the garden has been set on three terraced levels. The lower level has a small patio area, the middle terrace has a table and chairs for al fresco dining and the top terrace has a bistro set, the ideal place for a sundowner after a busy day! There is a shed provided for bike storage or you can hire bikes nearby.
Less than a 2-minute walk takes you to the heart of Cheddar, packed full of independent stores, restaurants and cafés as well as beautiful scenery, Jacobs Ladder and the gorge. For a relaxing treat, why not book a spa day at the nearby Cheddar Woods Spa? For keen walkers and cyclists, the miles and miles of walks or rides from the doorstep are endless, strap on your boots or helmet and see where the day takes you. Cheddar Reservoir is a great way to spend a couple of hours, walking the loop and enjoying the views or watching the water sports such as sailing. Jump in the car and head to the beach at Weston-super-Mare or Burnham-on-Sea, do some shopping at the designer outlet in Clarks Village, at Street or climb the tor in the ancient medieval town of Glastonbury.
