Bod Eithin is spacious and furnished to a high standard. It is ideally located for families, as it is a short walk from the award winning 4 mile long, sandy Harlech beach. It is regularly awarded as one of the finest beaches in Wales and is backed by protected sand dunes. Being a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Morfa Harlech is now a National Nation Reserve, one of only 70 in the UK. It boasts numerous important sanctuaries for wildlife. In spring and summer keep an eye out for the three-coloured dune pansy, the pyramidal orchid or even the scarce bee orchid. When in ?ower, the dry dune grasslands are home to a number of butter?ies and moths, such as the six-spot burnet moth and the common blue and small copper butter?ies.
Other insects such as some of our rarest mining bees who depend on bare sand and you may spot a sand lizard, too. Ringed plover nest on the beach in spring and other birds such as the skylark and stonechat breed in the dunes, with redshank and lapwing using the saltmarsh. In winter wading birds such as oystercatcher, dunlin and sanderling feed along the shoreline, and wildfowl make use of the estuaries and saltmarsh.

For those with a head for heights fast jets can be seen training and photographed as part of the Mach Loop and flights can be arranged from the nearby Snowdonia Flight School to take you over the summit of Snowdon. This quirky, semi-detached property is situated right in the heart of the seaside town of Barmouth, on the shores of the Cardigan Bay coast. There is a lovely open plan living area with a separate bedroom and shower room, whilst a staircase leads up to a roof terrace, great for relaxing on with a glass of wine. You can stroll along the sandy beach or wander along to one of the many cafés and pubs in town. Take a walk or a bike over the famous Barmouth Bridge and explore the Mawddach Trail, a level route which follows the trackbed of the old railway line to Dolgellau. From Barmouth, you can also hop on board a train on the Cambrian Coast line between Machynlleth and Pwllheli for one of the most spectacular coastal railway journeys in the UK, or catch a ferry over the mouth of the river and take a trip on a little steam train on the Fairbourne Railway.

To the north, the sandy beaches stretch for miles, and at Harlech you will find the mighty castle built by Edward I (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) brooding over the little town. A little further on at Blaenau Ffestiniog, you can experience Europe’s largest zip wire zone as you fly over an old slate quarry at Zip World Titan, or try a spot of underground trampolining in a slate cavern at Bounce Below – great fun! The mountains of the Snowdonia National Park are just waiting to be explored, and you can be in the hills within a few minutes. Take time out to visit some of the local towns and villages too. Dolgellau with its range of individual shops, Penmaenpool and its delightful toll bridge, Llwyngwril with an annual yarnbombing festival, and Tywyn, home to the famous Talyllyn Railway. Or if you prefer a little retail therapy the city of Bangor is a further five minutes away. Ask for the quick route to Aber Falls and you could be at the start of a really nice and not too arduous walk in about 15 minutes to see the waterfall. Slightly further afield there are numerous attractive places to visit both seaside and hillside. Take a stroll down the marine walk into Conwy where you’ll find an abundance of places to eat, pubs and independent shops and all are within walking distance, so park up an relax in this historic area. Talking of history, there’s Conwy Castle, a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization World Heritage Site. The Smallest House in Great Britain is down on the picturesque harbour, from here you can take a leisurely river cruise. Bodlondeb park is also close by a great spot for walking the dog. There’s Plas Mawr, an Elizabethan Town House and Aberconwy House a Medieval Merchants House. A short drive of around 10 minutes and you’ll discover the little known yet award winning Conwy Vineyard well worth a visit for any wine novice or connoisseur. You’re also within easy reach of the Snowdonia National Park, the bustling seaside resort Llandudno, Surf Snowdonia, Zip world and not forgetting glorious coastal paths and many walks. The real stand out feature in this property is the cinema room, with seating for everyone to relax and enjoy a movie in front of the 100 inch projector screen, this room also doubles up as a playroom. A separate games room with multi-functional 7ft games table for pool and air hockey, and a separate foosball table. This leisure area is accessed through the courtyard area of the property and also houses a ground floor accessible bedroom and wet room. Whilst this bedroom is accessible, the main house ground floor does have a couple of steps to navigate, blocks to make a ramp will be available. Please note the doorways into the main house measure 80cm in width. The main house has a separate lounge with ample comfy seating and warming log burner perfect for those chillier evenings. Within easy reach is Black Rock Sands where you’ll find miles of sweeping sands and dunes, and Portmeirion, an enchanting Italian-style village. A short drive is Harlech with its imposing Castle and extensive beach. Nearby Blaenau Ffestiniog, an adrenaline junkie’s delight with Zip World, the largest zip wire zone in the world, Bounce Below, where you can bounce on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern, and the Stiniog mountain bike trails. The area has something for everyone of all ages, from scenic walking routes, bike trails, epic climbing, to a whole host of water sports on offer. Beach 1 mile. Pub and restaurant 100 yards.

You can drive onto the beach here, so it’s a popular spot for picnickers and a great spot to spend a full day, as you can load the car up park up and relax without having to worry about carrying everything with you. A short drive inland is Blaenau Ffestiniog, an adrenaline junkie’s delight with Zip World, the largest zip wire zone in the world, with various activities such as Bounce Below, where you can bounce on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern, and the Stiniog downhill mountain bike trails are also here. The Llŷn Peninsula is an unspoilt, designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with miles of coastal and mountain walks to explore. There is wildlife in abundance, pods of dolphins, seals, and birdlife to spot.

Rockcliffe is in the village of Aberdovey and from the balcony you can see the championship links golf course opposite, which is a must play if you’re a golfer. Aberdovey is full of things to explore on foot. There are plenty of independent shops, cafés, bars and lovely restaurants to enjoy. The beach is very popular with many water sports on offer. You can book a paddle board lesson, go surfing, sailing or even kite surfing. If the tides permit, you can even stroll along the sand all the way to Tywyn. In Tywyn visit Talyllyn Railway where you can experience a traditional journey through the Welsh countryside or venture further afield to Dolgoch Waterfall. Other attractions include Corris Mine Explorers where you can partake in excursions into an underground mine, Fairbourne Railway or how about the challenging hike up Cader Idris if you’re feeling active? Sea fishing is also available nearby.
