Convenient for Chatsworth and Haddon Hall and Alton Towers. There are lovely views over the moors from the living room window. The owner has ensured the property is supplied with everything you need for a great holiday and supplies lots of local information and endeavours to make your stay a special one.
This is an ideal base from which to enjoy the splendid walking in the hills or relaxing in the garden with friends. All rooms are bathed in natural light and look onto fields and hills and there are enclosed gardens to front and rear.

Centrally located in the High Peak market town of Glossop with easy access to all the town’s amenities, this terraced cottage provides comfortable holiday accommodation which is well placed for exploring all that the area has to offer, including the stunning Peak District National Park. This charming terraced cottage is located opposite Manor Park which was once part of Glossop Hall and today is one of the area’s most popular parks with landscaped garden, lake, tennis courts and children’s play area. Families will also enjoy the caverns located around the spa town of Buxton, the mining museum and mines at Matlock, 32 miles, and Cannon Hall Farm at Cawthorne, 22 miles. There are also several show caves around Castleton, 15 miles. For those who prefer all the facilities that a big city has to offer, Manchester is just 15 miles away. Popular attractions in and around the city include Old Trafford, the Trafford Centre, Chill Factor and the Airkix indoor skydiving. National Trust properties are within easy driving distance include Lyme Park which was used as the location for BBC’s Pride and Prejudice, 12 miles, and Chatsworth is 27 miles. The Peak District town of Holmfirth, 13 miles, used as the setting for TVs ‘Last of the summer Wine’ and ‘Where the Heart is’ is also worth a visit. This attractive detached house has been lovingly furnished to a good standard and is situated in the pretty village of Clifton. On the ground floor is a cosy living room, a dining room with seating for all 6 guests and a well-equipped kitchen to rustle up your favourite family dish. Moving upstairs is the master bedroom with a kingsize bed and en-suite facilities. A further two bedrooms comprise of one with a double bed and the other with twin beds, both with a TV. A family bathroom is also conveniently situated on this floor.
This holiday property is in a great location for exploring the Derbyshire and Staffordshire Peak District, and the fabulous market town of Ashbourne, with its quirky antique shops and many bespoke coffee shops and restaurants. Ashbourne is known as the gateway to the Peak District National Park and is an ideal base to visit many attractions, including Alton Towers, 8 miles.
There are so many places to visit in the Peak District that one visit may not be enough. Interesting market towns offer very different attractions. Visit Bakewell and its museum to learn more about the Bakewell Elephant, or the spa town of Buxton with its opera house.
Castleton and its amazing show caves, Blue John mines and cliff top Peveril Castle is worth the trip, and no visit to the Peak District would be complete without a day spent at fabulous Chatsworth House and Gardens, with waterfall cascade and the Emperor Fountain reaching heights of 300ft!

For serious shoppers, Meadowhall is around 20 minutes away and Holmfirth, most famous from Last of the Summer Wine can be reached in around 15 minutes. The Derwent Reservoir, once used by the Dambusters to practise low level flying, is around 45 minutes away, and for those with children, Cannon Hall Farm (famous from the Channel 5 show), Cliffe House and Wentworth Castle Gardens are both nearby. The School House is a truly wonderful detached, Grade II listed stone built cottage situated in a rural position in the hamlet of Bradnop, less than 1 mile from the picturesque Peak District National Park. Thoughtfully and extensively renovated throughout to offer spacious, comfortable accommodation and even boasts its very own private hot tub for guests use. Many of the original features have been carefully retained including beams, exposed stone walls and fireplace to name but a few. There is a well-kept enclosed garden at the front of the property and a paddock area to the rear.
The small and pretty rural hamlet of Bradnop is situated on the western edge of the Peak District National Park. Close by you will find the market town of Leek with its array of antique shops and quirky crafts. The thriving picturesque market town of Ashbourne and the spa town of Buxton are within driving distance. For families and the more adventurous, Alton Towers is only a 5 mile drive away.
Nearby you will find superb walks with Dovedale, the beautiful Manifold Valley, and the popular Manifold Cycle Track, all within easy reach. There are lots of pretty villages to explore one being Hartington where you will find tasty local cheeses in the village cheese shop, also close by there are several pubs serving fantastic home cooked food. This attractive, terraced stone cottage is set in a quiet corner on the edge of Chapel-en-le-Frith, outside the pretty village of Combs, which appeals to walkers and has a lovely pub/restaurant. Located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, the cottage is warm, welcoming and deceptively spacious, and is perfectly placed for exploring this beautiful part of the High Peak. Traditionally furnished with a homely feel, this charming cottage has character beams and a cosy living room, perfect for relaxing in, whilst the front bedroom has a stunning view over Combs Reservoir. Chapel-en-le-Frith means ‘Chapel in the Forest’, the ‘Chapel’ being the old Norman church which still stands in the market square with its original stocks. The forest has been replaced over the years by lovely old stone cottages. Market day is still Thursday, but is no longer a cattle market! The market place was filmed in the BBC drama ‘The Village’, where the Kings Arms featured as the old pub.
The Peak District is a paradise for walkers, cyclists and climbers, with fantastic walks and cycle trails from the doorstep; Rose Cottage is within 5 minutes’ drive of Kinder Scout National Nature Reserve, close to Edale and Hope Valley. For golfers, Chapel-en-le-Frith has a beautiful 18-hole golf course less than a 10-minute walk away. Nearby attractions include Chatsworth House and Estate; Castleton with its Blue John Mines and underground caverns accessible by boat; famous Bakewell; Ladybower Reservoir, and Buxton Pavilion Gardens and Opera House. Children will love the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom at Matlock Bath, and the Tissington and Monsal Trails which are easy, level paths along old railway tracks for walking or cycling (bike hire is available). Public transport is very accessible from the property, with a bus stop placed directly opposite the front of the house; it is also on the Buxton-Manchester Airport route.
