Bramling Cross is a delightful and cosy cottage for two. Nestled within a private small holding of a larger home and is surrounded by fields and open countryside. It’s the perfect choice for those seeking a romantic retreat with an abundance of rural pursuits on the doorstep. Newly converted, this inviting cottage mixes modern home comforts, exposed woods, and cosy soft furnishings throughout. There is a small private terrace with seating.

Bramling Cross is named for a variety of hops first harvested at Wye College in 1927. They used to be grown in the area and are still used by Brew Dog Brewery who describe them as “elegant, refined, assured and understated”. This is the aspiration for the cottage. Sadly the hop-yards that surrounded the property were cleared in 2020. Being nestled within a rural hamlet, guests are not short of wildlife. Buzzards and sparrow hawks are seen here regularly with occasional visits from the peregrines that are resident in Worcester Cathedral! Little owls, tawny owls and barn owls are often heard if not seen. You will see plenty of winter migrants too - one of which is the bramling! It’s not just for the birds though. Bats use the main house as a summer roost, foxes, badgers and muntjac deer all live locally.

Located in the hamlet of Lulsley near Knightwick in the heart of the Teme Valley. There is a lovely local pub offering local ales and excellent locally sourced seasonal food. Nearby in Alfrick you can stock up on some scrumptious essentials by visiting the community shop and have a lovely cup of coffee and cake at the café. Should you want to explore your surroundings a little further, Worcester and Malvern are both within easy reach and Hereford is just a short drive away.

Heath Barn is a newly renovated detached barn perfect for two, looking for a romantic break with town and country on their doorstep. This fabulous barn sits right on the Worcestershire and Hereford border with views of the Malvern hills. It is gloriously set within its very own private field and sits right on the Worcestershire Way.

Designed all on one level, it has an open plan living and kitchen space, kitted out with all the mod cons. The sleeping quarter includes a sumptuous bed with top of the range linens for the ultimate night’s sleep, along with a snazzy bathroom with double shower. Outside guests can enjoy dining alfresco, followed by some serious relax and recuperation within the bubbling hot tub. The barn also features underfloor heating throughout, along with a Smart TV for your convenience.

Just across the lane, guests will find a small working farm; why not request a box of eggs and some wonky veg for a small donation, should you feel like dining on organic local produce for the week? There are some lovely country pubs within walking distance too that provide a nice pit stop after a country ramble.

Just beyond this wonderful abode, you are within a short drive of the world-famous Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds, making this a great base for walkers. Within Malvern, there is a plethora of restaurants, boutique shops and a theatre. Why not take a trip along the Wye River, hop on a canoe or paddleboard at Hereford, and see wildlife and Herefordshire by river? There are great links to Bromyard, Worcester, Hereford, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Ludlow, Tewkesbury and Ledbury. Hereford (20 miles), Worcester (11 miles), Malvern (6 miles), Ledbury (10 miles).

On the edge of the large village of Colwall, you have restaurants, bars and takeaways under a mile away if you do not feel like cooking, local shops will have the essentials you need, with larger shops close by in Great Malvern. Take some time to explore and visit the nearby picturesque towns and villages, walk the Malvern Hills, visit Eastnor Castle or spend a day out at one of the many events held at the Three Counties Showground, which is just 5 miles away!

Further afield are the cities of Worcester and Hereford, both easily reachable by train, and luckily the train station is just 600m away, so its the perfect spot for leaving the car behind and exploring the local attractions by rail! National Trust properties surround the area and are always a must see, as well as visiting the cities of Gloucester and Cheltenham, the latter is great for a day at the races. Quabbs Head Cottage, before it was renovated, extended and restored, was an isolated ‘two up, two down’ country cottage. It is unknown when exactly it was built, but it is shown on the 1840 Herefordshire Tithe Map, and it seems to have been built originally in the 14th or 15th century. It is located approximately half a mile from the nearest property, with views to open country, and beneath ancient deciduous woodland, in the heart of what is now the Netherley Hall Estate. It is shown on the 1840 Tithe Map as ‘Quabhead Cottage’. Quabb’s Head means literally the ‘the head of the bog’. The original gable wall has been lovingly restored, and the extensions have been built, with oak from ancient estate woodland. On the ground floor, you’ll find two beautifully appointed bedrooms, each designed to offer a restful night’s sleep.
