A selection of detached homely holiday bungalows in landscaped grounds, set in a quiet wooded valley and divided by the River Seaton that flows from high up on the moor and down through the beautiful grounds of Rosecraddoc. This is an ideal rural location to tour the whole of Cornwall, south Devon and Dartmoor. South east Cornwall has some of the best and most varied countryside in the whole of the south west of England, from the mists of Bodmin Moor, the creeks and valleys of the rivers to the secluded coves, sandy beaches and rocky outcrops of the coastline in the south. A 15-minute drive will take you to the spectacular South Cornwall Coastline and the famous fishing town of Looe. Just along the coast from Looe nestles the tiny fishing village of Polperro, with its harbour and narrow streets. There is a network of footpaths which pass through some of the most scenic countryside in the district, one of which leads directly from the village.

The city of Plymouth is just 18 miles and is home to the award-winning National Marine Aquarium. Our mild winters ensure that many plants are able to thrive in Cornwall. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are both within 25 miles. There are many historic houses to visit close by including Cotehele, Lanhydrock and Antony. There is horse riding nearby, and golf courses within 20 miles include the ’course that Jack built’ at St Mellion, Looe Bindown and Lanhydrock. Liskeard sports a leisure centre with swimming pool, squash, indoor bowling, badminton and fitness suite. From Liskeard train station you can take the lovely branch line which runs down to Looe through the wooded East Looe Valley. Nearby Siblyback Lake offers windsurfing, dinghy sailing, canoeing and fishing. Mount Edgcumbe Park with its 800 acres of parkland located on the Tamar estuary is also well worth a visit. The Tipis are situated on the owner’s 16-acre farmland, with sea views and beautiful meadows, forestry and waterfalls all on-site and within walking distance from the cottage – there are even pet lambs in the field. This is an ideal break away for a family or friends to enjoy this peaceful location, located just 2 miles from the fabulous quirky harbour towns of Aberaeron. Aberaeron retains its Georgian character with elegant brightly painted town houses and with a small harbour for yachts and fishing boats. Aberaeron is becoming something of a foodie pleasure. Stroll around the harbour along Quay Parade and enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the award-winning restaurants. The independent shops and craft centres are also a big hit amongst our guests. The town is right on the Wales Coast Path and The Coastal Way.
Ceredigion’s coast is also well-known for wildlife including the famous Cardigan Bay bottlenose dolphin pods, there are boat trips to explore the Ceredigion Marine Heritage Coast and the town features a Seafood Festival in July. From chilling out on the beach or enjoying a hearty harbour meal after a train ride Aberystwyth and Newquay which are a short drive offer traditional Welsh pubs, stylish restaurants and sandy beaches, where dolphins and porpoises are often spotted on a clear day. To the north are the famous slopes of Snowdon, offering breath-taking views with abundance of walks amidst the tumbling waterfalls, shimmering lakes with buzzards and peregrine falcons soaring high. The area is a natural playground for ramblers, mountain bikers and climbers alike.
The tipis consist of an open plan living/bedroom space with double bed, single sofa bed, a wood burning stove and externally there is a seating area with garden furniture and a fire pit. The kitchen is approximately 20 metres from the tipi with a fridge, freezer, sink, gas hob and microwave oven. The bathroom has a walk-in shower (wet room), again next to the kitchen area. Owl Cottage is a beautifully presented property nestling in the old smuggling village of Jevington and on the fringes of the Cuckmere Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the South Downs National Park. Enjoy going for a bike ride or taking the dog for a walk in the most scenic settings. Explore a multitude of places to visit all within a short drive such as Beachy Head and the soaring cliffs of the Seven Sisters Country Park, Cuckmere Haven’s sandy Beach, Friston Forest Walks, Herstmonceux Castle, Battle Abbey, Drusilla’s Zoo and much more. The much loved seaside town of Eastbourne is 4 miles away with Hastings, Rye and Brighton a little further afield. The cottage is within a short stroll of a lovely tea room for afternoon treats and the local inn for eating out. Shops 2¼ miles and pub 545 yards.

In a fine location in the scenic Marshwood Vale, midway between the popular and picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis and Bridport, on the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast and only 3 miles from the quaint seaside resort of Charmouth, these three holiday cottages, situated on a working beef farm, offer comfortable accommodation and a great location to enjoy the best of West Dorset. Stable Cottage, (ref 14804) is a detached honey coloured cottage looking out over the courtyard, Foxglove, (ref 25230) comprises of a single storey barn conversion with a couple of steps up to the living/dining room/kitchen and 2nd bedroom, and Bluebell Cottage (ref 26933) is split-level 3 floor accommodation; and all of these holiday properties can be booked independently or together. There is wonderful scenic walking from the doorstep into the Marshwood Vale and on the coast some stunning scenery overlooking the whole of Lyme Bay from Portland down to Torquay and, not for the faint hearted, walking up to the top of Golden Cap - the highest point on England’s South coast with breath taking views. Guests can enjoy this beautiful stretch of coast, taking in some fossil hunting, boating, swimming, and golf nearby. Explore the many little seaside resorts such as West Bay, Eype, Sidmouth, Beer and Seaton and in particular Lyme Regis with its traditional harbour, famous Cob and variety of little shops. Further afield within easy driving is Weymouth with its Blue Flag sandy beach, Sealife centre, Time Walk and many other family attractions or going west, days out at Exeter with its cathedral, catacombs, shops and restaurants. Going inland explore this pleasant part of Dorset, taking in Beaminster, Broadwindsor, and Forde Abbey and Gardens. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Although an attractive seaside resort now, Largs like much of this area has enjoyed an interesting history - in 1263 it was where the Norse fleet were defeated. From Largs take a ferry to Great Cumbrae Island and visit the aquarium, near Keppel Pier, and the ’Cathedral of the Isles’ on the sandy bay at Millport. The Cumbraes are not the only isles within easy reach. Go from Wemyss Bay across the waters to Bute, or drive south to Ardrossen and arrive in the exceptionally mild island of Arran. Arran is home to a wealth of places to visit, including the National Trust for Scotland owned Goatfell, 2,866 ft, with its magnificent views from the Clyde coast to the Hebrides and Northern Ireland. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy making the trip here, as Arran has 6 courses in which to shoot a round. Manor Park is well-placed for anyone looking to plan a diverse holiday itinerary. Whether you take to the sea or prefer to head inland, there is much to fill the days. Within an hour’s drive you can reach Loch Lomond, Burns country and Glasgow, with Edinburgh just a little further. Pub 2½ miles.

Part of our ‘More than Dog Friendly’ collection, Holly Cottage is located in an idyllic country lane in the peaceful hamlet of Roud. This comfortable property is less than two miles away from the centre of one of the most picturesque villages on the Isle Of Wight, Godshill. It is suited to walkers, cyclists and guests wanting to enjoy a slice of rural life on their holiday and take in some spectacular walks and countryside views. A one bedroom, single-storey, detached property, it lies adjacent to the owner’s home, and comprises of one kingsize bedroom and a small sofa bed in the open-plan living room. It’s perfect for couples or a small family with a dog, looking for a short break or a week’s holiday, as it provides an ideal central base giving easy access to all of the island’s many attractions. There is a small, enclosed garden and plenty of long walks in the surrounding area for dogs to enjoy. A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided within the property.
Godshill has a winding main street lined with a number of fantastic village pubs and tea rooms serving the best local ales and delicious cream scones and jam. The village boasts some of the oldest buildings on the Isle of Wight with its own historic medieval church at the top of the hill and numerous pretty, thatched cottages. There is something for all the family to explore, including a model village, museums, gift shops, pubs and restaurants. For walkers there are also many miles of public footpaths and countryside to explore on your doorstep. The island has become a real hotspot for cycling enthusiasts, with a choice of challenging off-road bridleways, peaceful by-ways and level, purpose-made tracks running along former railway lines.
The popular seaside resorts of Ventnor and Shanklin are around a 15 minute drive away, with lovely parks, gardens and glorious beaches. The island’s capital, Newport, with its many amenities, including a leisure centre and theatre, is also 15 minutes away. Further outdoor pursuits on the island include horse riding, fishing, para-gliding, water sports and golf. There are numerous attractions to discover for all ages, such as The Needles, with its chairlift down to the coloured sands of Alum Bay, with an amusement park, boat rides and a lighthouse. Why not pay a visit to Queen Victoria’s favourite holiday residence, Osborne House and gardens, or visit Blackgang Chine, the oldest themed attraction in the UK? Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Tapnell Farm Park, Carisbrooke Castle or the sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes are also well worth a visit. Set in the heart of Watchet, you have a myriad of wonderful shops and restaurants on your doorstep to explore. Why not leave the car behind and step back in time aboard the West Somerset Steam Railway, which chugs merrily along the West Somerset Coastline and through the countryside, linking Minehead to Bishops Lydeard. Exmoor is within easy reach by car, with its winding roads and plentiful tea rooms to explore, as well as seeing the famous Exmoor ponies in their natural habitat. The seaside town of Minehead is close by and offers a more traditional seaside fare of arcades, shops and restaurants.
