This 1922 carriage couples modern design with touches of historic charm. The open plan living space has a sofa, two armchairs, a TV and a fully equipped kitchen. Both bedrooms have new furnishings with en-suite shower rooms and the light fittings in the living area are from the Orient Express.
Horsebridge Station was one of the stops on the Sprat and Winkle line after which the carriage got its name. With patio furniture for four and barbecue, enjoy the feeling that the train stopped just for you.
At the end of the station drive you’ll find the charming John O’Gaunt pub, a delightful place for a drink before or after a stroll along the famous Test Way, which follows the course of the railway line just 100 metres from the station.
There is ample parking, a play area for children in the garden, which is also suitable for a dog to run around. Table tennis is available on request. There is a resident friendly labrador, and Coco the cat.

The kitchen area is well equipped and has granite worktops, an electric hob and full-sized oven, fridge with freezer compartment and a microwave, allowing you to cook a meal at any time of day and then relax on the sofa with a glass of wine or a cuppa! The shower room has been finished to the same high standard, with a large electric shower and heated towel rail for your comfort. Underfloor heating features throughout making the pod the ideal choice for a holiday at any time of year!
There is a working equestrian facility to the rear and if you can bear to tear yourself away, then you are within driving distance of many superb attractions in south Somerset. Nearby are the great attractions of the Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, the Haynes Classical Car Collection, the enchanting Glastonbury Tor and Clarks Factory Village. There are numerous historic houses, the cathedral city of Wells and onto the delightful Cheddar Gorge and caves, while further afield is the historic spa city of Bath. There is a wealth of attractions and sights to enjoy and on your return perhaps stroll down to the local award-winning village pub, 1 mile away, to wine and dine.

A superb detached getaway with rolling views over the Grand Union Canal and fields beyond. Gaze up at the stars whilst relaxing in the outdoor copper bath or toast some marshmallows on the firepit on the patio out the front of the shepherd’s hut. Want to get all cosy? Then this is the place for you since it has a wood burner and underfloor heating, making it the perfect stay all year round and whatever the weather. Leave the car for your entire stay and explore this pretty area by foot, with plenty of walks through fields and countryside and tow paths along the canal where you can reach some lovely country pubs serving traditional food and drink. You can even meet some of the farm animals whilst on your walks including sheep, cattle, ponies and chickens. This is a great place for nature and wildlife enthusiasts and twitchers. Also great for fishermen, where you can fish from the bottom of the field in the canal. The local boat shop that can be seen from your accommodation serves delicious ice cream! Carlton Marsh Nature Reserve is also just 5 minutes away and Fitzwilliam Country Park is 15 minutes away. There’s also Wentworth Castle, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Cannon Hall, all can be reached in just 20 minutes meaning you really are spoilt for choice. Finally, slightly further afield a 30 minute drive will take you to the edge of the Peak District National Park and everything it has to offer, the shopping centres of both Meadowhall and White Rose, or the bright lights of the city of Sheffield in 40 minutes. There are even woodpeckers and buzzards around too, adding to the magic of this truly unique site.

The local village offers lots of amenities, including a choice of pubs, takeaways and convenience stores. York offers some of the UK’s leading visitor attractions, including the majestic York Minster, National Railway Museum, which is the largest in the world, York’s Chocolate Story and the not to be missed Jorvik Viking Centre. Getting into the city is easy by car (including park and ride) or bus, with services running daily and if you wish to be a little more energetic why not try one of the many cycle routes into the city?
Just a short drive away is the iconic Castle Howard, home to Brideshead Revisited, Sledmere House Beningborough Hall and the picturesque market towns of Malton and Helmsley, where you can sample some great Yorkshire fayre in one of the many independent cafés and delicatessens. A little further afield is the stunning North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the famous coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough; great for some sea air and a fish and chip supper. Nestled in a secluded corner of the owner’s meadow, this delightful shepherds hut is a cosy and stylish retreat. It is set in the heart of the stunning South Cornwall countryside, but is an easy jaunt to some amazing beaches, great tourist attractions and bustling towns. The Wool Shed, complete with a raised decked area with distant sea views, is the perfect escape for two. The beaches of Caerhays, Gorran Haven and Hemmick are easily reached, and the bustling fishing village of Mevagissey is close by. The narrow streets of Mevagissey are lined with local pubs, shops and cafés, which all seem to gravitate to the working harbour where you can take a boat out for fishing trips to catch your supper for the barbecue back at The Wool Shed.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan are just a couple of minutes away and an essential part of a Cornish holiday, with its stunning jungle and beautiful woodland walks. There is also a great local farm shop for treats and provisions. At nearby Pentewan you can hire bikes and cycle the off road and flat trail leading up to the town of St Austell, and for the more energetic, you can eventually cycle to the Eden Project on a network of local trails. This wonder is worth every penny, with its huge biomes and tropical rainforest, it is an amazing day out. The North Cornwall Coast is also accessible, with towns such as Newquay, Padstow and St Ives. The two Cornish coasts are only approximately 15 miles apart at this point.

The area around The Wool Shed is full of woodland walks, narrow lanes, local pubs, hidden coves and sandy beaches, and quaint little villages steeped in tradition and history. The Roseland Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is stunning right down to the sailing village of St Mawes, where you can actually catch a ferry over to Falmouth for a day out in this bustling town. There are golf courses, sailing, fishing, cycling and surfing all available nearby, making The Wool Shed the perfect place for a rest or to enjoy the activities this county offers. Beach 1½ miles.
