Swn Y Nant is a stunning lodge in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. This eco-friendly property is perfect for those wanting to explore the area or to simply have a romantic break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Nestled next to a stream and with a ramp to the entrance, this fabulous lodge comprises a ground floor bedroom with a super kingsize zip and link bed and a ground floor bathroom with a walk-in shower, a double-ended two-person bath and a heated towel rail. The open plan living, dining and kitchen space has floor-to-ceiling windows making it light and airy and has a Smart TV, super fast Wi-Fi up 150 mbps download and patio doors leading to the decked area with a private hot tub. There is also a small utility area. To the first floor is a kingsize bedroom with Smart TV. There is underfloor heating throughout the property with zoned thermostatic controls.
Outside, you will find hot and cold taps, perfect for washing your four-legged friends off after a walk in the hills. This eco-friendly lodge has eco cleaning products which are supplied along with a welcome basket of local produce, as well as a welcome basket for your dog containing treats and eco waste bags, also supplied is a bed, a blanket and a towel for your four-legged friend. A medium sized dog cage is available upon request.
There are plenty of walks to be had from the property; it is 6 miles to the historic town of Brecon with its array of coffee shops, small local independent shops, and art galleries. There is something here for everyone, and for those looking for more adventures then why not climb the high peaks of Pen Y Fan and take in the breathtaking views of the rolling countryside?

Maesydderwen, meaning oak field, started life as a working farm and later became a country inn, but is now a collection of delightful holiday cottages, beautifully situated within the living landscape of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The charming market town of Llandeilo, with chic shops and an array of good restaurants, cafes and pubs, is just over three miles away. This holiday property has CCTV and has been renovated by the owners who live on-site, and boasts a fantastic hot tub and comfortable accommodation ideal for families, friends or couples. The property has been awarded Bronze in the Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards for self catering accommodation of the year 2018/2019 (3 units or more). There is an abundance of wildlife to see and enjoy from the grounds including woodpecker, siskin, marsh tit, goldfinch, nuthatch and wild roe deer. Red kites can also often be seen soaring overhead and there is a feeding station a 20-minute drive away. You can leave the car behind and enjoy wonderful walks directly from the cottage. If you can drag yourself away from Maesydderwen, there are the beautiful castles of Carreg Cennen and Dinefwr nearby, and the dammed lake of Llyn Y Fan Fach at the western border of the Black Mountains. The National Botanic Garden of Wales, 11 miles, with its great glasshouse dome at its centre, is a year round attraction, and within the Brecon Beacons National Park there are masses of paths and trails for walkers, runners, cyclists, mountain bikers, golfers, horse riders and wildlife watchers. Adrenaline sports such as paragliding, canoeing, rafting and abseiling can also be organised within the national park. Fishing is available in the nearby Towy Valley. Beach 30 miles. Fancy taking a break in this delightful, Mews cottage? It lies tucked away in a small courtyard of cottages with gates shutting out the world, giving peace, quiet and privacy. Go through the gates and you are 50 yards from the centre of historic Abergavenny café culture, with its many coffee shops and bistro’s. Originally the site of a Roman fort, Gobannium, Abergavenny became a medieval walled town within the Welsh Marches, with its own Norman castle.
If walking or cycling is your thing, then Abergavenny is the gateway to the mountains, including the nearby Sugarloaf, the Blorenge, with the famous ’The Tumble’ cycle hill climb, and the five hills, Ysgyryd Fach, Deri, Rholben, Ysgyryd Fawr and Mynyd Llanwenarth. With easy access to the Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains, Offa’s Dyke Path is close by and the Marches Way, the Beacons Way and Usk Valley Walk all pass through Abergavenny town. Limestone flooring and the natural pink hues of the exposed stonework give a light and airy feel throughout the property. French doors lead out on to the patio and an unfenced stream passes through the enclosed garden to the rear of the property. Up above the village of Llanddeusant sits the famous lake known as Llyn y Fan. This beautiful lake is a popular destination for walkers as it boasts spectacular views and a tranquil, peaceful atmosphere. Myths about The Lady of the Lake and the Physicians of Myddfai come from ancient times, and some people believe that the Arthurian legend of the Lady of the Lake and Excalibur stem from here.
If you’re a romantic star gazer then the first International Dark Sky Reserve in Wales, situated in the Brecon Beacons, is perfect for you. On a clear night, you can see the Milky Way, major constellations, bright nebulas and even meteor showers. It’s enough to make anyone starry-eyed.
Less than half an hour’s drive will bring you to the colourful, picturesque town of Llandeilo, scattered with an array of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. It’s a delightful place to spend a few hours. Throughout the year you can watch the graceful red kite swoop down for food provided by the Red Kite Feeding Station also in Llanddeusant.

Ty Nant

Two delightfully located cottages on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and in stunning countryside that share a cobbled courtyard. Llangadog itself, 3 miles, is a charming village with pubs and eateries. Close by is the spectacular Red Kite Feeding Centre and buzzards also abound. Salmon, sewin and trout are found in the crystal clear waters of the rivers and mountain streams; the area is idyllic for walking, cycling, bird watching, fishing and carriage driving. National Botanical Gardens of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens are not to be missed. The ancient market towns of Llandovery, 3 miles and Llandeilo, 9 miles offer history and places to eat whilst Llandeilo also boasts an antique centre, interesting shops and castle. Pub 3 miles.

Ty Isaf (meaning ‘lower house’), is situated within the Brecon Beacons National Park, just outside the Carmarthenshire village of Trapp. There are lovely views of the surrounding countryside and Carreg Cennen Castle from the cottage grounds. This lovely cottage has been luxuriously converted into an attractive holiday home and is just a stone’s throw from Carreg Cennen Castle which was listed by The Times in their top 20 walks within the UK.

From the terrace at the front of the cottage you enter via the sleek kitchen, which leads via two steps to the open plan living/dining area, with French doors out onto the rear patio and enclosed garden. The beams and high ceiling give a lovely light feel to the space and the stunning mezzanine bedroom with kingsize bed and TV overlooks the living room. There’s an additional bedroom on the ground floor with zip and link six foot bed. The spacious and well-appointed ground floor bathroom offers a Jacuzzi bath and a double size walk-in shower cubicle. The cottage has super fast fibre broadband, and outside there is a store with heating, perfect for keeping walking gear and boots dry and warm, and space for bikes too.
The village pub is ½ a mile away, Glynhir Golf Club is 2½ miles away, and the town of Llandeilo, 3 miles, has a great selection of restaurants, cafés and pubs as well as a varied selection of lovely independent shops, including a famous award-winning chocolatier also selling exquisite homemade ice cream, as well as the very well known deli. The town holds various events throughout the year, including a music festival, jazz festival and the unique Festival of Senses in November. On the edge of the town why not visit Dinefwr Castle, the lovely National Trust Dinefwr Park and Gothic Newton House?
Carmarthenshire is abundant with historical monuments, wonders of nature and fantastic beaches. Travel over breathtaking mountains and lose yourself in the solitude of the vast countryside. Sennybridge has all the amenities you could need from pubs, restaurants and local shops. The historic town of Brecon is 9 miles from the property where you will find plenty of coffee shops, art galleries, restaurants and bars, and don’t miss a visit to the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh at the barracks. It is also a great location for star gazers as the property is in the Brecon Beacon National Park and is an International Dark Sky Reserve.
For those looking to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park then this property is just 9 miles from the base of Pen Y Fan, so you can enjoy a climb to the top to see the magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. Bwthyn Canol is a fabulous base for walkers and cyclists as there is plenty of beautiful countryside to explore. There are walks to be had from all directions of this terraced property which is great for your four-legged friends and for those wishing to cycle in the area there are plenty of routes, BikePark Wales is roughly a 25-minute drive from the property. The literary town of Hay-on-Wye is 28 miles away with its array of book shops and of course the world-renowned Hay Festival that is held every year.
