Swn Y Nant is a stunning lodge in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. This eco-friendly property is perfect for those wanting to explore the area or to simply have a romantic break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Nestled next to a stream and with a ramp to the entrance, this fabulous lodge comprises a ground floor bedroom with a super kingsize zip and link bed and a ground floor bathroom with a walk-in shower, a double-ended two-person bath and a heated towel rail. The open plan living, dining and kitchen space has floor-to-ceiling windows making it light and airy and has a Smart TV, super fast Wi-Fi up 150 mbps download and patio doors leading to the decked area with a private hot tub. There is also a small utility area. To the first floor is a kingsize bedroom with Smart TV. There is underfloor heating throughout the property with zoned thermostatic controls.
Outside, you will find hot and cold taps, perfect for washing your four-legged friends off after a walk in the hills. This eco-friendly lodge has eco cleaning products which are supplied along with a welcome basket of local produce, as well as a welcome basket for your dog containing treats and eco waste bags, also supplied is a bed, a blanket and a towel for your four-legged friend. A medium sized dog cage is available upon request.
There are plenty of walks to be had from the property; it is 6 miles to the historic town of Brecon with its array of coffee shops, small local independent shops, and art galleries. Maesydderwen, meaning oak field, started life as a working farm and later became a country inn, but is now a collection of delightful holiday cottages, beautifully situated within the living landscape of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The charming market town of Llandeilo, with chic shops and an array of good restaurants, cafes and pubs, is just over three miles away. This holiday property has CCTV and has been renovated by the owners who live on-site, and boasts a fantastic hot tub and comfortable accommodation ideal for families, friends or couples. The property has been awarded Bronze in the Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards for self catering accommodation of the year 2018/2019 (3 units or more). There is an abundance of wildlife to see and enjoy from the grounds including woodpecker, siskin, marsh tit, goldfinch, nuthatch and wild roe deer. Red kites can also often be seen soaring overhead and there is a feeding station a 20-minute drive away. You can leave the car behind and enjoy wonderful walks directly from the cottage. If you can drag yourself away from Maesydderwen, there are the beautiful castles of Carreg Cennen and Dinefwr nearby, and the dammed lake of Llyn Y Fan Fach at the western border of the Black Mountains. Little Trehenry is a detached cottage on a working farm nestled in the Brecon Beacons National Park. With plenty in the area to see and do, including the owner’s own shire horses that have stabling at the property. Little Trehenry offers all the ingredients for a restorative holiday.
This beautiful cottage is surrounded by open countryside and rolling hills, meaning there are plenty of walks to be had from all directions, making it great for your four-legged friends too! Boasting lots of space within this property, with two lounges perfect for the kids to watch their own TV whilst the adults relax in front of the wood burning stove with a glass of something chilled.
Little Trehenry is centrally located with access routes to Swansea, Cardiff, Abergavenny and Hereford. There are some fabulous views of the Brecon Beacons to be had from the property, as Little Trehenry is just 6 miles from the historic market town of Brecon. There is plenty to do in Brecon itself, with the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh a short distance from the property, as well as a theatre and cathedral. For those wishing to cycle in the area there are plenty of routes, with Bike Park Wales being roughly a 35 minute drive from the property.
The literary town of Hay-on-Wye is approximately 10 miles away with its array of book shops and of course the world-renowned Hay Festival every year. If you fancy taking things at a slower pace, why not take a barge ride down the canal? The town is also the home of the Brecon Jazz Festival in the summer. The lovely old market town of Llandeilo, situated on the river Towy, is just 9 miles away with boutiques and galleries, Llandeilo hosts various festivals throughout the year, including the jazz festival and the gin festival. Bwythn Bach is set on the west of the Brecon Beacons National Park, boasting stunning views and a perfect base for exploring the beacons. ‘Bwthyn Bach’ is Welsh for ‘Small Cottage’, and is a cosy property sleeping up to two guests.
