Swn Y Nant is a stunning lodge in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. This eco-friendly property is perfect for those wanting to explore the area or to simply have a romantic break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Nestled next to a stream and with a ramp to the entrance, this fabulous lodge comprises a ground floor bedroom with a super kingsize zip and link bed and a ground floor bathroom with a walk-in shower, a double-ended two-person bath and a heated towel rail. The open plan living, dining and kitchen space has floor-to-ceiling windows making it light and airy and has a Smart TV, super fast Wi-Fi up 150 mbps download and patio doors leading to the decked area with a private hot tub. There is also a small utility area. To the first floor is a kingsize bedroom with Smart TV. There is underfloor heating throughout the property with zoned thermostatic controls.
Outside, you will find hot and cold taps, perfect for washing your four-legged friends off after a walk in the hills. This eco-friendly lodge has eco cleaning products which are supplied along with a welcome basket of local produce, as well as a welcome basket for your dog containing treats and eco waste bags, also supplied is a bed, a blanket and a towel for your four-legged friend. A medium sized dog cage is available upon request.
There are plenty of walks to be had from the property; it is 6 miles to the historic town of Brecon with its array of coffee shops, small local independent shops, and art galleries. This beautiful end terrace period holiday property is situated in the centre of the popular border town of Hay-on-Wye and within walking distance of its amenities. World renowned for books and bookshops and its literary festival, it also has a renovated castle, traditional markets with local produce, art galleries, antique and independent shops, great gastro pubs, restaurants and cafés. There is much on offer in the great outdoors with fishing, horse riding, cycle and canoe hire all available locally. Wonderful walking area with two long distance footpaths, namely Offa’s Dyke Path and the Wye Valley Walk, both with stunning scenery of the beautiful border country. Brecon, Builth Wells and the cathedral city of Hereford are all within easy driving. Maesydderwen, meaning oak field, started life as a working farm and later became a country inn, but is now a collection of delightful holiday cottages, beautifully situated within the living landscape of the Brecon Beacons National Park. If you can drag yourself away from Maesydderwen, there are the beautiful castles of Carreg Cennen and Dinefwr nearby, and the dammed lake of Llyn Y Fan Fach at the western border of the Black Mountains. The National Botanic Garden of Wales, 11 miles, with its great glasshouse dome at its centre, is a year round attraction, and within the Brecon Beacons National Park there are masses of paths and trails for walkers, runners, cyclists, mountain bikers, golfers, horse riders and wildlife watchers. Former chapel, stone built in 1867, now a very attractive quirky detached holiday cottage with much character, on a minor road junction in the village of Pontsticill, within the Brecon Beacons National Park. The property is complete with jukeboxes and a pin ball machine. The surrounding area is peaceful, scenic, varied with mountains, valleys, forests and open hillside ideal for walkers.
